it is a change of heart--having to do the law v wanting to demonstrate faith. It becomes clear when you just answer "How can i tell if someone is truly saved?"

Whoever is truly saved will bear fruit. But to get saved, to then later bear that fruit, demands the death of Christ "as us" to grant us righteousness without any of our works.
