God's people have an urgent need...we have 70 people coming to sleep here. I am trying to get together enough money to buy some of these paper thin mattresses urgently I have found a place that will sell them to me for 12 dollars a mattress...If you can help God's people let me know the store will wait for me to pay them if I can raise the money. Can you please help these precious people have a little mattress to lay their heads? All funds can be sent to my home address....If money is coming the store will let me have the mattresses because they trust me. Anything would be deeply appreciated....Thanks so much.

We are in a city called Barra da Corda, a city next to the lower basin of the Amazon jungle. They are having their first convention. It is so sweet and last night we had 10 or more to receive the Holy Ghost. A real break through. Last Sunday our son baptized 11 including an indian lady from one of near by tribes. Last night another indian couple came and prayed. We were able to give each of them a
Bible in their own language. It was so sweet.

We have been in 2 powerful conventions in less than a month and are now in this one and from here we will travel another 700 miles or so on up to the state of Para for their convention.

Today is our 40th wedding anniversary....I can think of no better way to spend the day other than in the presence of the Lord with a group of sweet people.

We are also blessed that Sister Carla our son's first convert came for convention. She and her husband live in another state and just last Sunday she too conducted the first baptismal service in her state!

Today our son Michael is preaching to the young people our daughter in law Marcela is preaching to the ladies and tonight Brother Alvear preaches in the main service....what a day of sweet glory we will have...


I have been looking for a stove for this area. Found some for around 300 dollars...They sure do need one if anyone would feel to help them. They are so poor but they too are God's children.

Thank the Lord...today with His help we will be back home...(Maceio) this afternoon. We have traveled almost 5000 Kms. We visited the first convention in the state of Maranhao and the convention in Belem do Para...As many of you know we were robbed once again on the Sat. night of our Maceio convention and many things were taken plus the money we had saved for the trip and our monthly money, church money and other things...however we did not let this sadden us or discourage us...We left after our convention on this long exhausting dangerous trip...by faith...we did not even have enough money for gasoline...but each time we needed gasoline or something God used someone to help us...

We have seen folks filled with the Holy Ghost, gave people their first Bibles, people have been baptized, besides the special services we dedicated a new church, we opened a new house meeting. We were able to visit scores of our precious people, see an Indian read Acts 2:38 in his own language from an Indian Bible we gave him. We have had an incredible journey...Thanks to all that have felt to help us...

Tonight we hope to attend services in Maceio! Have been trying to post a few pictures on facebook.... Very few places have had Internet other than some bus stops and they have been so kind to give me their password so I could share with you things along the way...

Dear Noble and precious Homeland Supporters:

Another year has gone by…In many ways this was one of our best years on the mission field. 2012 was a year of big steps in the work here as well as a day of beginnings in many new areas. We could never find enough words to thank you for helping us and our family. We are so grateful for your loving care both through support and prayers.

Between the last of November and the last of December we attended 4 conventions traveling thousands and thousands of miles across this vast land. The National convention in the state of Sao Paulo (south central area) was beyond words. So much unity, a fresh new vision for outreach and ordaining of new workers in the vineyard.

The convention in Maceio (northeast) was the best we have ever had. Over 50 people received the Holy Ghost. As many of you know we have a huge building and it was pack each night.

Following the Maceio convention our son Michael and his wife traveled with us to the first little convention in the jungle where our son Arlei works. Five hard exhausting years have paid off. I was moved to tears as his people started gathering in. Those from the city others from the farmland and Indians from the jungle all crowded in and we worshipped our God together. Oh the difference the knowledge of God makes.
With grateful hearts we dedicated one more church in that area also. From there Arlei and gilene joined Michael, Marcela Brother Alvear and myself and we all traveled another 1000 km’s on to the far north state of Para for their little convention. It was so sweet to see the faithful ones there and they were so happy to see us.

Taking advantage of being in the state of Para we went to visit a group of people in yet another area and inaugurated another preaching point in a brand new place.

We also in the month of November visited the work in the state of Ceara. Pastor Milton and Sister Jane are doing a tremendous job in that far away state.


We were able in 2012 to finish the retaining wall of our south Brazil tabernacle thanks to your help. We send many cases of bibles to our son in the jungle, we also gave away many Portuguese Bibles in many areas. The Lord helped us to remodel many of he churches due to rain and flood damage. We also roofed several churches this past year.
Four new churches were built in 2012 and several new lots to build are ready for the challenge this new year.

So many good things are happening. The end of the year we were able to bring smiles to the faces of scores of people helping them have food. Your giving makes things like this possible.

As we enter this New Year we are sure not any younger but we still feel strength from the Lord to keep working on in His harvest fields. We deeply appreciate your help.

I would like to share a part of a letter and later a conversation and a talk with this pastor’s overseer kinda all mixed together for the sake of time and space.

His name is Pastor Renato. A pastor that is known for great sacrifices and love for the message of Christ. He and his family live in a little interior city called Jales in 2 tiny rooms and have lived and sacrificed that way for many years. However his son is 11 and his daughter is 12 and they all sleep in one tiny room while the other tiny room is a kitchen and whatever they need…

He shared with me now that his children are getting older her would gladly do the manual labor but he is out of work and they desperately need to build another room. To build this room it will cost about 1000 dollars or so with him doing all the work and also his church helping with what they can do. He asked me to write my American brothers and sisters to see if they would help him with 1000 dollars. I told him I would. I would just give it myself if I had it because I know this pastor well.

I know there are millions all over our world with needs however he and his family are our brothers and sisters in the faith. We may not can meet the needs of the whole world but if we all do something we can help this pastor have a little room for his children.

Anyone that can help them please send the help earmarked to my home address and I promise to get it to them. They are so worthy of our help. Thanks for anything that can be done.
