Buildings bring God into the bondage of a manmade euphoria. The Modern Church today has become an elaborate entertainment center. Stages, sound systems, dress style, performance preaching, all this and more have created a falsified report and altars of fantasy.
Concepts develop within this manufactured environment that not only drift from God's Ultimate and initial plan for Mankind, they produce the greatest form of walking human hypocrisy on this Earth.
Ferd, your shallow approach to Faith is a total veer from reality. The Church has just as many problems as the World does, and locking people behind the bars of ORGANIZED FAITH has destroyed actual Faith by over-dogmatic and imprisoned ideas about being saved.
If Jesus was committed to "Kingdom Building", which is what Organized Religion is, He would have gladly accepted a Crown, a House, and those who ran such institutions. Instead, he drew into the Temple to overthrow tables, condemning those who ran these artificial Faces of God.
this might be fun. since NOW has decided im being mean.... lets drop back.
please define where and how my faith is shallow.
once we have that worked out, maybe i can better 'splain myself... or at least find the deep end of the pool...

blather. go back an re-read. the finest feller on the forum was doing the trash talking.
well before that I was simply posting along the theme of the thread.
now we have devolved. dont blame me. I am 100% in favor of house church.
the difference between me and the finest feller in these here parts is that I am also for church church and pasture church and jungle church.
and my good friend, quite with the traffic cop stuff. it makes you look silly. if the fine feller is so fine, he can certainly stand up for his own fine self.
I thought the post in which you dropped insinuations of NFS being like the Unibomber, and several other nefarious things you said, to be rather childish. Seeing as how this is an open forum, I expressed my thoughts about your childishness. Deal with it.
Give a try to reading exactly what he said. He said your approach to faith is shallow, not your faith. Big difference, you know.
role with it... what is my approach? lets define things. lets see if you fine fellers know anything at all about me.... or are you slotting me because i have not climed mt everest and yelled "THE UPCI SMELLS LIKE CHICKEN BREATH!"
seriously this really might be fun! I look forward to haveing you guys explain to me what I am.

here is how it works. your fine friend went on a rampage about how building buildings is bad.... that is a manifesto. ergo...
tit for tat and all that.... yes I was returning silliness where i found silliness. the POINT, my friend is that the silliness doesnt generate thoughtful replies. the silliness isnt taken seriously.

It would be so much more entertaining if you did the explaining. But one of the reasons I commented about your childish trash-talking is, I've never really heard you verbalize your foundational theology. I only see you make bully-ish comments that make it appear as though you're not used to having someone stand up to you. I wonder if you really know what you believe or if you just toe the company line and follow marching orders without ever really knowing why or what you believe.
Maybe you're able to expound it with great authority. I just haven't seen it.

I didnt see this earlier. You do realize that Jesus overthrew the tables of those who were using the temple as a strip mall. He was actually protecting the sanctity of the temple.
John 2:14-16 14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. 15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. 16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”
Makes me wonder how some of the churches that sell coffee and donuts in the foyer interperet this scripture.

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter

I am offended by your vulgarness.
No wait.......sorry.
Anyway, my fine friend can defend himself, I'm sure, but he did not rampage about "how building buildings is bad." He himself pastor a fine church that occupies a building. You need to go back and maybe digest all of what he said. You seemed to have missed his point.
