Interesting historical fact: At one point chimney sweeps would pay homeowners to sweep a chimney - and keep the soot to sell - because it was thought to be crop fertilizer, and also have certain medicinal and/or mystical values. This was later proved mostly false.
Were your customers angry and demanding refunds when they found out the soot you had sold them was worthless?

It kind of reminds me of a story about an old spinster about whom the rumor was circulating that she was FINALLY engaged to be married. When the story got to her pastor, he just HAD to ask her about it. He went to her house, made small talk, and finally brought up the story.

"Is it true, dear sister, that, after all these years, you are truly about to be married?"

"Well, preacher," she replied, "it's like this -- I'm nigh on 80 years old. I ain't never been married, nor even engaged. Sadly, I've got to tell you that the story ain't true. Nevertheless, THANK GOD FOR THE RUMOR!"

I can assure you it would be worth your time to hear the other men mentioned. With me, however, it's another story. My sound man has started adding the following disclaimer to all my CD's:

"WARNING: Do not listen to this message while driving or operating heavy equipment. Has been known to cause drowsiness."

Thanks for the complement, nonetheless. I'm honored.
You are a very humble man.

Did your sound man REALLY add that to all your CDs? Oh how funny! Unable to find another sound man, huh? Or is he just a member of a prominent family in the church? That sometimes goes a long way in securing a coveted position, though unwanted.

Thank you, Elder. I sincerely appreciate your kindness for which you have a great reputation.

Now....

I am not finished reading all of this thread yet but, I wanted to say....

I have made some serious mistakes of which some were real doozies. I am thankful that most have been willing to forgive and forget them. I have tried to extend that same consideration on to others that have made equally great mistakes also. After all, is that not the Christ-line way that we understand to be "Christian?"

I shall not judge a man for a few mistakes of this sort, even though they may have been quite drastic. It is the LIFE of a man that must be judged rather than some moments of brilliance, anointing, flash of wisdom or a fair showing in the flesh or Spirit or some momentary embarrassing mistake.

I scarcely remember the brother, but what I do recall of him, he was indeed a sold out, dedicated warrior of the cross whose only love and passion was for the things of God. I will continue to believe that of him and quickly forget whatever mistake that he made though maybe in the heat and exuberance of the flesh. He is not heavy sir, he is my brother.

I wish I could say I have never done anything stupid or always have said everything exactly right and correct but I do wish life had a rewind button I would sure use it. Sometimes zeal can overide wisdom it has in my ministry. However I don't want to lose the zeal to become a colorless assemblyline preacher with no distinctions in my ministry.

I am humbled.

This, coming from a giant among men, I am truly humbled.

Thank you.

Heart attack is a lie of the devil.

Cancer is a lie of the devil.

Diabetes is a lie of the devil.

Arthritis is a lie of the devil.

"...by whose stripes ye WERE healed." I Peter 2:24 and Isa. 53:5.

What report shall we believe?

The curse was nailed to the cross. Jesus was nailed to the cross. The curse died. The curse was buried. He bore our sorrows. He carried our griefs. He took away the curse. I believe the REPORT.

Everyone that believes the REPORT, stand on your feet and give God glory for your healing.
