Now, does this verse clearly state that water baptism "also now saves us"?

Yes or no:___________?
Didn't think I'd get a straight answer.

Speaking of straight answers I see that apparently your keyboard does not have the letters "yes" or "no". That was a simple question that was completely ignored.

Nope, this is what usually happens. I posted Romans 10:9-10 and was asked, more than once, and I answered more than once, that I believed that one could obey Romans 10:9-10 and be saved.

The 'saved by baptism' scripture was posted and I asked the same question which was asked of me.....do you believe that baptism saves. Typically, the immediate response was evasion with a touch of contempt thrown in for good measure.

The question remains, do you really believe baptism saves? Of course there will not be a direct and honest answer from you or the one who posted the verse in the first place. We all know the issue, we all know why there'll not be a direct yes or no answer from the one posting the scripture or from you.

It's because even though the scripture was posted, it's not believed. Just be direct and honest.

Yep, you're now in full evasion mode. Break out your box of scorn and contempt, you'll now be using that instead of actually giving your view on the scripture you yourself posted.

Baptism alone will save no one.
Peter did not say baptism alone - apart from faith or repentance etc. - Peter said the like figure where unto baptism doth also now save us. He used the flood as an allegory of salvation. Had people then had faith and repented by joining Noah they would have been saved by water as Noah was. Likewise if people will have faith and repent and join the church and be baptized in Jesus name they to will be saved.

Note: Repentance means to obey God not just feel sorry about past sins though that is part of it. It is turning from sin and towards God - doing His will.

Baptism in response to faith and repentance in Jesus name for the remission/forgiveness of sin, the infilling of the Holy Ghost and leading a godly life will. Any of these missing and you will not be saved.

Now can you answer the simple question: "yes" or "no"?

Nope. The scripture was posted suggesting that baptism saves us. I'm assuming that your simple answer would be no, baptism does not save us.

I'm waiting on the fella who posted it to answer it though. I doubt that's going to happen, to be honest. As I said earlier, I've never met anyone who believes that baptism saves us.

Sooo... You refuse to answer a simple question?
How sad...

And if you would have read my post you would see where I do believe baptism saves us. What I do not believe is that baptism apart from faith, repentance, in Jesus name, the infilling of the Holy Ghost, and living a godly life will save us. I answered your question so please answer the simple one:
Now, does this verse clearly state that water baptism "also now saves us"?

Yes or no:___________?

The verse in question is again 1 Peter 3:21

What part of Romans 10:9-10 which promises salvation do you disagree with?
