I just can't figure how the sisters can walk in pumps.
My wifey prefers the flats.

People who are always looking for fault, can find it easily all they have to do,is look into their mirror.
There they can find plenty of fault.
There are people who make this statement but I wonder how far they would go in regard to blind obedience.
I know churches who don't allow any combination of the following:
open toed shoes, watches, any jewelry at all, no certain colors for attire, only unseen items in the hair, no perfume, no shaving of any hair on the women, etc.
I wonder how far one would go and continue to say that refusing to comply would mean they are in rebellion.
If your pastor suddenly preached that you should stop shaving your pits and legs, would you? Without question?
If my Pastor preached ANYTHING that I had a very hard time with and felt I could not follow, I suppose I would find me a different church pastored by someone I could follow. Rebellion is rebellion, IMO. I would rather find a pastor I could sit under w/no problems rather than continue to sit under one I openly disobeyed. If I felt my Pastor was off the deep end and I could no longer follow his guidance, then I would find someone else under whom I could. Again, this is just my own personal preference/opinion. .
Raven..No offense but your double talking here....If you wear sweats you DO wear pants.
Actually, my old sweat pants are my pajamas so I don't think they really count? But I suppose if you want to get technical, then yes, I do wear pants. Sweat pants. . .to bed.

I can understand that, and I agree.
But what if you lived in an area where churches were far and few between, like say, 75 miles one way?
And I'm not saying this to make things difficult. I once lived in an area where I had to travel 65 miles one way for church, having no other choice. If I couldn't attend that one, I'd have had to travel about 75 miles one way. Thus the reason why I'm asking you. I mean, is something as silly as what I mentioned above enough to make you cut tied to a church family you have been a part of and go elsewhere?

Pants are pants! It doesn't matter where you wear them. If it is truly an abomination to wear pants, it is an abomination to wear them anywhere.
If one does not wear pants because they believe Deut 22:5 pertains to that, then they should not wear pants in any form or fashion ever...
But if they believe it is a modesty issue, then I can see the pajamas, and sweats around the house etc...
I will never forget the first womens meeting I went to when I was first saved. There were around 50 women there. When it came bedtime all but 3 of us had on pajamas!!! These were from churches that preached it according to Deut 22. It either is or it isn't!!
One thing that hurts is inconsistencies, it is hard to explain those to children.
