How about changing that to "any substance or BEHAVIOUR that is addicting..."?

According to some studies (I read in the past,,,would have to look them up again) Overeaters, gambling addicts, smokers, alcoholics, drug addicts, etc. brain chemistry all change in the same way when engagaged in their addiction. The "feel good" chemistry of the brain (endorphins) are released in ALL addictions....so quit trying to justify ANY addiction!
Blessings!

Lev 11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
Lev 11:4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Lev 11:5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Lev 11:6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Lev 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
Lev 11:8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
Lev 11:9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
Lev 11:10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
Lev 11:11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
Lev 11:12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
Lev 11:13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
Lev 11:14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
Lev 11:15 Every raven after his kind;
Lev 11:16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
Lev 11:17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
Lev 11:18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
Lev 11:19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
Lev 11:20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
Lev 11:21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
Lev 11:22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.
Lev 11:23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
Lev 11:24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.
Lev 11:25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
Lev 11:26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
Lev 11:27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
Lev 11:28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

Deu 14:3 "You shall not eat any abomination.
Deu 14:4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,
Deu 14:5 the deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the mountain sheep.
Deu 14:6 Every animal that parts the hoof and has the hoof cloven in two and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.
Deu 14:7 Yet of those that chew the cud or have the hoof cloven you shall not eat these: the camel, the hare, and the rock badger, because they chew the cud but do not part the hoof, are unclean for you.
Deu 14:8 And the pig, because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.
Deu 14:9 "Of all that are in the waters you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat.
Deu 14:10 And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
Deu 14:11 "You may eat all clean birds.
Deu 14:12 But these are the ones that you shall not eat: the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture,
Deu 14:13 the kite, the falcon of any kind;
Deu 14:14 every raven of any kind;
Deu 14:15 the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk of any kind;
Deu 14:16 the little owl and the short-eared owl, the barn owl
Deu 14:17 and the tawny owl, the carrion vulture and the cormorant,
Deu 14:18 the stork, the heron of any kind; the hoopoe and the bat.
Deu 14:19 And all winged insects are unclean for you; they shall not be eaten.
Deu 14:20 All clean winged things you may eat.

also..

Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Notice things are still considered unclean.

Again I think it is a clear teaching of scripture. This is not good for you to eat. It is something that is detestable unto my health!

Have fun with the law. Can I introduce you to a wee little book called Galatians? It has this really cool part about how we don't need a school master. Check it out sometime.

Seems like I ran across that little book somewhere one time and it led me out of the UPC.

Baron, you will never succeed in removing the righteousness found in the law. Contrary to what you think, God hasn't turned His back on His law one bit. He's just made a way for us to be in compliance with His law. Our faith establishes the law.

Every time I see this thread the following question pops in my mind:

If a pig eats cheese is it still a cat?
