Re: What Are You Reading Currently, 2.0

I am in Ezekiel in my ESV, having finished Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Lamentations, recently. In my NLT, I've read all the General Epistles and am nearly done with Revelation. I finished the entire OT just a few weeks ago. Not much left to go and I will have read through the entire Bible in the NLT. In the NKJV, I am in Leviticus.

My wife and I are much further along in 12 Rules for Life. The Lucifer Effect is coming along, too.

I’m reading “ the rational bible “ by Dennis Prager. It’s basically a commentary but very interesting to read it from a Jewish perspective.

Re: What Are You Reading Currently, 2.0

Theological Roots of Pentecostalism by Donald Dayton came in the post today. It focusses on sanctification, healing and premillennialism and how they developed and impacted Pentecostalism.

Nice, but no quotes or references fo my research.

It is nice to see a book with indexes.

Re: What Are You Reading Currently, 2.0

I am nearly done reading Dr. Heiser's Angels: What the Bible Really Says About God's Heavenly Host.

See: http://drmsh.com/want-biblical-view-angels/

I bought a book at the local library "Friends of the Library" sale tonight. Published in 1958, it's called Collectivism in the Churches by Edgar Bundy. Believe I will be reading it after the above.

Here are some excerpts:

Re: What Are You Reading Currently, 2.0

I started reading Dr. Jonathan Haidt's The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided By Politics and Religion:

https://righteousmind.com/

I've also finished Revelation and the Pastoral Epistles in the NLT, and am currently reading Romans. I intend to read through Paul's epistles, then the Gospels and Acts, and I will have finished the entire NLT.

Re: What Are You Reading Currently, 2.0

2 books recently arrived. It will be the last for a month or so. Budget issues

The Deity of Christ by Frank Bartleman. Mostly a collection of quotes from various theologians about God, Logos and Jesus Christ. He does quote Harry Morse, but not anyone else I am researching.

Our God is One by Talmadge French. A overview of Oneness Pentecostalism round the world. A few chapters on how history developed from 1913. Only one mention of Harry Morse. Lots of footnotes, but no indexes.

It look like I have all the available books on Oneness history. There is not enough data about the pre WW2 time period. Especially in events taking place in California.

Re: What Are You Reading Currently, 2.0

Just finished reading one of my kids books.
Book 4 of the Prince Warriors.
This is a great series for pre-teen or early teen kids.

I just finished Man in Search of Meaning by Dr. Vickor Frankl (See below)

I am still reading Dr. Haidt's The Righteous Mind, and I also started reading How To Disappear: Notes on Invisibility in an Age of Transparency by Akiko Busch:
