That's not a Bible version, it's a PARAPHRASE!

Using your office as an analogy for what happens in the CHURCH is not valid. There is no comparison.

Again, an invalid analogy.

It is not your place to question GOD about whether HE has placed someone over you.

Now, go back and actually READ what I wrote. God does not refer people to vile translations (like "dynamic equivalence" translations).

People with the Holy Ghost cannot even be consistant on a trivial issue such as television (yet they all speak directly to God. Ha!)... how can you expect people who were not even Apostolic/Pentecostal to decide what would actually go into the bible. There is no infallible bible... they are all just copies of copies of copies of which were decided on by a group of men who thought they were in a position to decide such things. An infallible bible would have been kept intact, in God's own hand (except that He didn't write any of it, his followers did) throughout the ages, with no question of authenticity...
People who were not Pentecostal DID decide what would actually go into the Bible and Oneness Pentecostals rely on supposedly unsaved people (trinitarians) to translate their Bible for them.

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant written revelation of God in the original manuscripts and a sufficient rule of faith and doctrine in the various translations from the original to the extent the translations are accurate translations of the original.

Of course it is. If not, we would all just sit under the rule of the first man that came along in our lives.

Chan,
you may be OK with your interpretation that we have rulers but only have one master. I think that is a very poor interpretation of the scriptures.

The Bible says what it says. Read the words of the scripture. Hebrews 13:17 says, "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." The Greek word translated "rule" in that passage has the following meanings:
  1. to lead
  2. to go before
  3. to be a leader
    1. to rule, command
    2. to have authority over
    3. a prince, of regal power, governor, viceroy, chief, leading as respects influence, controlling in counsel, overseers or leaders of the churches
    4. used of any kind of leader, chief, commander
    5. the leader in speech, chief, spokesman
  4. to consider, deem, account, think

Poster CHAN is willing to accept a 25% possibility that we can have RULERS yet only have one MASTER.

It would seem by your supplied definition that you have a 1 in 4 CHAN of being appropriate usage.

Poster tbpew has a 75% possibility of receiving the correct witness from Heb 13:17.

I am quite comforted by a 3 in 4 chance, particularly when the etymology of the word OBEY gets to include the witness of "FOLLOW".

But then you would be taking the use of the word out of the specific context of the passage.
