Seriously, EB, I AM impressed that you do this Bible Study. Lots of Pentecostals seems to want to stay in their own little insulated world. It's easier that way. Eddie taught about this tonight - about getting out there where the sinners are and yet remaining pure. I'm glad to see you put that in practice.

Thank you Sister. I start early in the morning and make my rounds and do it with consistency. It's all about being consistent. We also do Bible study in front of the Whole Foods Market at the tables located in front of the store. Discussions are more lively there. I put this also into practice when I preach around the country. If we could get more Brothers and Sisters to commit to teaching Bible studies in Barnes & Nobles, Borders, Starbucks, and Whole Foods Markets, we will see stronger saints who are happy to mingle with the people and show the light.

I think so. All murder is done from hate of some sort of another.

This story first came out on worldnetdaily - most of you discredit anything that comes out on WND so I'm surprised that most of you have not discounted this story altogether.
Anyhow, I'm really shocked that this took place in Lansing ,MI. a blue collar, family oriented town.

The "Hate Crime" idea addresses the motivation behind the act.
"Premeditated Murder" carries a harsher penalty than "Manslaughter"-- both have the same unfortunate result.
The same argument holds true for "Hate Crimes".

I realized that already, but I don't agree with it. If it were for the purpose of curtailing these sort of acts that is one thing, but they don't. Laws against criminal acts don't really curtail criminal acts.
This 'was' in my opinion more of the government saying "we feel your pain" than anything. It is the same mindset behind legalizing gay marriages. It's to get the government to do something as offical recognition that really does nothing at all. Gays can already be married in civil unions and religious ceremonies. They want the GOVERNMENT to officially recognize them.
If any criminal truly had LOVE they would not commit crimes that hurt others. Thus all murders are hate crimes.
If someone kills your kid for their sneakers the government says "he is not as important as the "special group" that got killed for being that special group.
I mean that is pretty dumb...let's punish this guy more because we believe when he acted he did it with hate....duh! If a white person kills another white person because he hated that white person it's not a HATE crime according to the definition of the word. It's ONLY a hate crime if a white person kills a black person because he hates black (just one example)...that is again the government being forced to redefine something...in this case HATE.
This is the same mentality that spawns HATEFUL rhetoric by the marxist left leaning bigots that if YOU want to curtail illegal immigration into this nation it is because you are a racist hatemonger.

I don't think that "Hate Crime" designations minimizes the victims of crimes were not motivated simply by hate.
There are people who are murdered, many folks, whose death is NOT the result of hate.
Drug dealers killing an innocent bystander-- not a hate crime.
Drunk driver killing a preganant mother-- murderer of two folks in some states, but not a hate crime.
If you kill someone becuase of your own hateful feelings towards that person, then it is a hate crime.
For example, the murderers of James Byrd down in Texas should have received the death penalty, imo, for the heinous and torturing death of that man-- motivated by their hate for Blacks.
It's pretty cut and dry to me.
Murder-- the act and the reasoning are defined and tried as separate crimes, rightfully so.
