I Corinthians Chapter 7 on Marriage?
So you see it as not a prohibition, but only discouraging such acts. I for one tend to see it better for a man to have more than one wife.
With that, it could hinder him from performing his duties in the ministry ( if he is involved ). Unless he was not preaching..

Please note, polygamy was illegal in Rome in NT times. One would expect Paul would prohibit polygamy in the NT church. Question is, would Paul have prohibited polygamy if it weren't illegal?

It might be a lust issue for you, for them it is a religious issue. They should be free to practice their religion between consenting adults the same as you are.

Is it still part of their religion?

Re: What's so wrong with polygamy?
our society already practices plural monogamy so why shouldn't they allow plural marriages? I for one would not want, nor desire more than one wife. The bickering and fighting would drive me insane (more so than I already am).
I just think it is foolish of our society to continue looking at marriage and divorce and remarriage as being okay but look at these people with multiple spouses at the same time as freaks.
BUT if they are going to allow it they need to allow it BOTH ways. Multiple wives or multiple husbands. Otherwise it will be a discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen.

Re: What's so wrong with polygamy?
if they make it legal for one they will have to make it legal for the other or else it will be fought by every 'equal rights' movement out there.

Sure, I understand that, but outside the homosexual or bi-sexual communities I doubt there will be much demand!
