Re: BMI
bottom line is anyone is overweight is guilty of overeating at some point in your life to gain weight. I am well over my legal limit for BMI.. don't know what it is exactly, and quiet honestly don't care at the moment. I ate because of depression for years, and still do sometimes. Sin just as any other sin... we all have sin in our lives, none is perfect. My vice? nah, I don't smoke or but I do drink... pepsi or sweet tea is my drug of choice if I am nervous... the other day I was stressed out at work... I text my daughter to bring me a pepsi, I was nervous...she text back "have you prayed about it". *sigh*
I am scheduled for lap band surgery in late Nov... currently my insurance is requiring me to diet supervised by my doctor for a six month period to see effort on my part before paying for it. So far I am down about 20lbs... but I am not giving it all I could, I get distracted. I don't have any health issues...except I find myself getting older and on rainy days, my joints ache. I am not on any meds... but do have a bottle of Adipex in my purse that I keep forgetting to take as appetite suppressant.
While it is true many people over weight have health issues, not everyone does... seriously, I really am tired of hearing that from people. I have a $3,500 deductible on my health Insurance, and my 21 yo daughter who weighs a whopping 135lbs at 5'5, met my deductible in one ER visit in January, then turned around w/a cancer scare in Feb, she has made it worth every dime I've paid for my insurance. I signed up for WLS, because I won't ever meet my deduct again... haven't ever before...so I am going for it. I'm looking forward to being thin again in a year or so and getting rid of the outward proof that I struggle w/nerves and depression from time to time. lol
I will agree with the clothing statement...nothing keeps you focused on what you are eating more than the fact you can wake up some mornings, put on your pants and think "what did I do, gain 5 lbs this week?" uggg there is no hiding weight in pants, there is no mercy.
