Re: Puking at the altar. Where did this come from?

I have dealt with people who were oppressed / possessed in a very relaxed yet private setting. Myself and usually my wife or someone who is experienced in this area of ministry.

We have had the person sitting in a chair and just calmly speaking to them, asking questions, not in a excited church scene. No loud music, no excitement, but a very deliberate calm setting.

When we get to that area where they are struggling and we begin to command the spirit to loose them, VIOLA!!!!!, they start to puke!!!

Is this now excitement? No! This is God delivering them from the oppression. Why do they puke? Don't know! God does not tell me His business. I just know that in areas of heavy oppression/ possession that it happens. Period.

I quit trying to figure out God's business and just try to be obedient to the Spirit of God to help people have deliverance in their lives.

Old Testament: We are told that "an evil spirit from the Lord troubled" Saul (1 Samuel 16:14

I always thought Spirit filled believers can only be oppressed by demons.

Not possessed.

But I guess that opens a whole other discussion.

I did not say he was.
But this is the only reference in the Old Testament
about someone being oppressed or possessed.

In sharp contrast, there were many mentioned
in the New Testament.

Same here.
But things should still line up with scripture.

The deal is that if it happens it happens. Who cares about making analysis of why and wherefore? I am sure people do not want to throw up. lol Pray with the person and see victory.

Re: Puking at the altar. Where did this come from?

I've seen this thing a lot! I've ministered to many people who came forward. One sinner man came to have prayer for anger and hatred that was messing up his then-current relationship. As soon as I started praying he began coughing and hacking. He opened his eyes so wide after and hugged me. He couldn't believe how free he was. Some others in similar situations did indeed vomit. I saw it first hand. It does happen. And they are set free so much they can feel it! And often weep for joy because of the release. It's really amazing.
