Re: Does all christian music glorify God?

I dont think ALL "christian" music glorifies God. Some music is good, clean entertainment. I recall some of the hymnals my old church sang as worship really was self indulgent, "clean" and said Lord a few times.

Yeah, have to admit there were a lot of "I's in the old music. It's the difference between singing songs of testimony about him and songs of worship to him.

'Never mind' is simply not a fair response, imo. You may not prefer the upbeat music, but his lyrics--which i think go down into the soul much further--are what count. This guy is not frivolous. BAM, find your own.

Hmmm I don't think I agree the theology was off. The whole song except the last 6 words is just scripture.

I have a playlist I made for myself of songs that influenced me toward God and Christ before I became a Christian. I would not use any of them in the worship service.

But they were important in my life to make me think of God so I still like to hear them occasionally to remind me of where I came from.

They glorified God to me.

To clarify, I was speaking of the idea of flying away at death instead of at the resurrection.
