Interesting discussion you find in these forums.
The typical argument that "we must endure persecution, but if you use self-defense you are not enduring persecution" is kind of interesting.
True persecution overwhelms your self-defense system. Self-defense is limited in what it can do, to the point that your two options will only be surrender or flee. So, really, self-defense has nothing to do with rejecting persecution and rejoicing in the midst of it. All those arguments using the examples of Sephen, Paul, etc..., not using their jujitsu to overcome their persecutors do not appear to comprehend the complexity of violence.
