I had a similar experience.

A rough old character came to church once, and I preached hot and heavy, not about hell, but pretty stout.

After the service, he gripped myhand, his eyes wet with tears, and said, "preacher, that was one ___of a sermon!"

Don't you love it? That's all they know - and he was probably more sincere than alot of the saints!
