I just don't understand why not going to the "picture show", sporting events, cutting your hair, etc. as mentioned in this man's letter are the important life changes that come as a result of what the "Apostolics have".

Seems there are more important changes that should come like not being quick to lose one's temper or given to wrath, living honestly, loving thy enemy, loving God and living one's life to be a reflection of Him, helping the poor, etc.

One thing I've learned over the years of attending UPCI churches - if you do what you mention in the first paragraph, what you do in the second paragraph doesn't matter much.

It's all in how you LOOK at it so to speak - not in how you live it. At least that's been my experience with UPCI recently.

They claim they ain't. The author of that letter said he just emailed it to Reckart. I usually don't email stuff to people I don't at least get along with, but who knows.

The Internet gives access to any reprobate who can construct a web site. My opinion is that the two threads that bear the individual's name should be removed. Don't give these individuals free advertising.

Amen!!! That is absolutely the truth. Let me now say I have not read the letter. The word says to resist the devil and he will flee. It is quite clear that the decision pertaining to Resolution #4 has sparked quite a bit of discussion. 1) Among those w/in the UPC and 2) Those outside of the UPC. The devil knows he is defeated, but will use any means necessary to distract the saints of God. Don't give the devil any entertainment by spending energy discussing the ungodly comments of others. Growing up there was a song that I listened to called "Beware of them Dogs" and it talked about how sometimes you have to leave certain people alone. My father would say "Let em' Alone" and I think that is fitting in this case. During my childhood my father preached a sermon entitled "Avenge Me of Mine Adversary". God will avenge his people when they are done wrong. Leave it in God's hands and he can and will handle it. Time waisted on foolish comments can spent Praising God. Give God Some Praise People of the Most High!!!

Just for the record, I am sorry for standing up for the author of the letter that the link in the first post of this thread takes you too.

It was a MAJOR mistake of my part.
