Once again... I was just using an example... If someone is really strongly convicted about something and they disobey they could end up in hell, that's all I was saying. I used an example there that I am not convicted about, but I know people who are, and for them it would be sin, unless the LORD were to change their conviction.
When I saw that my example was misunderstood I used another about something I would be convicted about, and how if I were to disobey a conviction of mine I could end up in hell.

GOD BLESS!

However, that's not accounting for deception. One could say, "I know the trinity is right" but they're sadly decieved. I could say, "I know so-and-so about divorce and remarriage." Now if I teach/preach otherwise I'm damned. If I prove it to you in the Scriptures, and you reject it, you are damned. If I fail to lift my voice and cry aloud the truth of GOD's Word I am damned. Today I had to tell someone the truth about this, and how she was still bound to her first husband as long as he lives. She didn't take it too well since she had married a second time. However, she is currently divorced from the first and the second. I prayed that GOD would give her the strength to stay single- she didn't like that very much, but it was the truth. Now, she's not Apostolic to begin with, so she's already in trouble, but if this teaching can save her from the sin of adultury and if she can eventually be brought into the Church, then the goal will be fufilled.
Also, although convictions and standards are not doctrines, they can lead one to damnation if not followed, or if not rightgeously implemented, or at least that's how I see it. If I am convicted that long-sleeves is the right way to go and I wear short sleeves, well... It's a hard thing to say I'd go to hell over it, but it's something to consider. I haven't been convicted in this way, so I have liberty on the matter, although I judge when to wear long-sleeves to the best of my discretion, if I was truly convicted for life or for a season and I disobey, well, I'm at least at a bad place spiritually I don't want to be at, eh?

GOD BLESS!
Bro. Alex
And to think I get criticized for not being con enogh! Whew! That is some really intersting stuff to ponder. "The length of my sleeves will have a bearing on where I spend eternity?" THis can't be a serious statement...really!

So, then, a conviction is elevated to the same level as salvational doctrine? THat is really scary!!!!!!!!!!!! The Hawk ain't afraid of much but that is just scary!!!!!!!!!

Hi St,Any false teaching makes you weak.I would say the more false teaching you believe the weaker you get.I believe that is why most assemblies have people backsliding.# one, they are not being taught what the must do to keep from backsliding and the life they must live to be saved.

How to keepfrom backsliding.2 Peter 1:5: And beside this, giving all diligence, (MAKE EVERY EFFORT)add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;6: And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;7: And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.8: For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.9: But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.10: Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence (MAKE EVERY EFFORT)to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall

Philp.4:8: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things

1 John1:5: This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.6: If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

2:10: He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him

Heb.13:15: By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name

Math.24:24: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Acts2:37: Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.39: For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.40: And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation

2 Cor.10:3: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:4: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds5: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Eph.4:21: If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:22: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;23: And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24: And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness

Phip.2:5: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus

1 cor.15:33: Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

2Tim2:16: But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

1 Thes.5:22: Abstain from all appearance of evil

Rom.14
[1] Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
[2] For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs
.
[3] Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
[4] Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
[5] One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
[6] He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
[7] For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
[8] For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
[9] For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
[10] But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
[11] For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
[12] So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
[13] Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
[14] I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
[15] But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
[16] Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
[17] For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost

The Importance of knowing ALL truth and receiving ALL truth,NO perversion.John17:17. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

(NOTE CONTINUE) John8:31. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;32. And ye shall know the truth (word) , and the truth shall make you free.

(NOTE THEY ARE REMOVED FROM GOD) Gal.001:006 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: (perverted word) 001:007Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

(NOTE DESTROYED) Hosea004:006My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: (word, truth) because thou hast rejected knowledge, (Word, Truth) I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me:

(NOTE SAVED) 1Cor.015:001 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel (truth) which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 015:002By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

(NOTE SAVED) 1 Tim.004:016Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; (teachings, word,Truth) continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Rom.016:017Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine (teachings, word,Truth) which ye have learned; and avoid them.016:018For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

1 Tim.001:003As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine (word,Truth)

2 John001:009Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine (teachings, truth,Word) of Christ, hath not God.He that abideth in the doctrine (teaching, truth,Word) of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.001:010If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine,(teaching, truth,Word) receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 001:011For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

1 Peter001:022Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth (word) through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 001:023Being born again, not of corruptible seed (word) , but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 John003:009Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed (Word) remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Eph.005:025Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 005:026That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

005:027That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

1 John002:005But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected (full grown) : hereby know we that we are in him

1 John004:007Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God (Word,Truth), and knoweth God. 004:008He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1 John005:001 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.005:002By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1 John005:018We know that whosoever is born of God (word,Truth) sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Gal.004:019My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, (by the truth,Word)

John6:48. I am that bread (word ,Truth) of life.49. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.50. This is the bread (word,Truth) which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
53. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh (word) of the Son of man, and drink his blood (Spirit), ye have no life in you

(Them that don't sin) 1 Cor. 02:006Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

2 Cor.4:004:003But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 004:004In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. Anything out side of Him is false doctrine. Trying to save yourself, self-righteousness, this is false doctrine. Reenactment theology, baptismal regeneration, salvific clothes and hair, this is false doctrine. It places your faith in what you are doing and not what Christ has done for you. ANY DOCTRINE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED is false doctrine and you cannot be saved without Jesus!

Nice question.

There are sooo many false/pet doctrines that one's head can be literally spinning these days.

Therefore, I believe that accepting/ practicing/ teaching false doctrine can cause one to loose their salvation and affect the salvation of others.

That doesn't mean that it will.

I believe at the point at which it is realized demands accountability and adjustment.

I've made many adjustments on the fly during my walk as I learn of false doctrines. That has cost me greatly, but has been a greater reward.

A section of scripture comes to mind.

Quote:
1 Cor 3:

5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, F8 ye are God's building. 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
It seems that false doctrine concerning the foundation would certainly lead to destruction, howbeit false doctrine concerning other matters may be a different story if done in ignorance. (For I can't imagine that false doctrine done with knowledge would be acceptable.)

There are a lot of good, well meaning brethren that are doing things out of tradition that think it is of God, especially since God works around it. They sometimes mistake moves of God in their midst as vindication for all their ways.

Yet I can see where God will see to it that they are salvaged accordingly.

Who would (no pun intended) build on this precious foundation anything that they believe to be consumable by fire?

Who would incorporate pagan qualities into their lives intentionally and expect that it would make the cut?

The truth in all things is important...it only adds quality to your life and to your walk....oh and often times..it adds to the walk of your brethren...if they will hear it.

Keep in mind.

Quote:
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
In fact:

Quote:
1 From whence come wars and fightings F18 among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. F19 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy F20? 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. 12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? 13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
One of the saddest observations that I've witnessed in my walk is how that sometimes, all too often, rejection of one extremely unsound doctrine has led to a kneejerk adaptation of another.

Seek Christ in all things and the truth shall be revealed. Who else will lead us into all truth?
