Bro. Epley, if you were my pastor, I would buy you a step-ladder so you could reach the pulpit's microphone.

This us vs. them attitude stinks! The internet is the enemy of people who use control to limit information. People can now get info that used to be protected or hidden, if they have a desire to research and know the truth.

Newsflash: There are pastors out there that are not good pastors, and would be out of business if they ran a business! Unfortunately, the natural process of eliminating these pastors from their positions many times doesn't exist!

Newsflash: There are parishioners out there that could possibly be in prison if pastors told authorities everything that they knew!

Both sides have problem people. Both sides have mostly great people!

I remember a time when I didn't really know your heart, but now that I do - I can only appreciate your posts here - hilarious!

On a more serious note - when I look back at the things I could compare and talk about, it seems rather bad of me to dwell on these things since God has moved us on.

I would be much more interested in someone sharing what God was showing them through that trial, then all the negatives of it. If anyone were talking to me and dwelling on the negative, I would view them as not seeking the Lord and hearing from Him. He always gives us the victory in the end. Surely He has given a Word, a song, a message, or something through these things!

Do we place any value on "All things work together for them that love God and are called according to His purpose."?

Are we saying we aren't learning anything, growing, etc? Why would we keep talking about pain if we were growing? Where is the healing in talking about what someone did to me?

I want to say, "This is what God did for me in this situation. This is what God is showing me."

Again, in my personal experience, the awesome things that God did for me, stood by my side, even correcting me at times, is so overwhelmingly beautiful, I can't dwell on the negative.

Truth is, we are all a bunch of flawed folks, trying to present ourselves as acceptable to God. The irony is, He knows the truth, and that should humble us all. Which leaves us with one true option: fall on the grace and blood of Jesus.

Isn't it the truth. Well said.

Great post. The "us against them" reflex often makes people too defensive or offensive and rarely gets anything substantial done...kind of like partisan politics.
