Is there any legitimate commentators that say specifically that "Jesus came in the appearance of cloven tongues like fire"?
I have never heard that before. Maybe there's a lot of commentators out there that say that, I don't know... But if there is, could you plz post a few that are in agreement with your comment?
(Now, we all know that the He came in spirit form, and that the Spirit of Christ and the Holyghost are one and the same, but to say he, the son of man, appeared as tongues is new to me, that's why I'd like to see it from another (credible) source).
Also, could u plz explain exactly what they visibly saw, when they the son of man appear to them (as tongues) (in supposed fulfillment of Matt.16:28..., AND while taking a 2000 yr gap from the previous verse, kind of like Daniel's unsuspected "2000 yr leap year)
(No literal sworded tongues either, please.)

I heard that in an old Marvin Hicks debate many years ago. The commentators I googled are all over the place with "metaphoric" ideas of what the cloven tongues represent. What a mess.

I understand, but I cannot post the cassette tape. I am glad you clearly saw my point though.
We must agree that the Lord can manifest Himself any way He chooses.
And that these cloven tongues SAT on each of them as they received the Holy Ghost, and that same exact being that SAT on them was Jesus. It was a physical manifestation of Jesus Christ Himself. They saw it with their own eyes.

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
This speaks of the end of the Church age...
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
This speaks of the beginning of the Church age....
(No literal sworded tongues either, please.)
