11But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer who is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or verbally abusive...

Re: Some standing here
Bowas, think about this....
Mark 9
9 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Roman 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Just think about it. Then explain the similarities to me, okay?

Revelation 12
12 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (Israel)
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. (seeking the 2nd coming)
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (satan)
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Jesus)
6 And the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (notice that God saves Israel, not destroys her?)
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (many saints will perish as seen in Rev 14,)
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. (Israel)
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (Israel saved by God)
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. (Israel saved by God)
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Jews attacked by satan)
Please notice, that I allowed the symbols to interpret the passage.
I have not wrote a big commentary, but used very little explanation to help you understand what the minor symbolism is telling us about the passage.
This is the best way to view the Book of Revelations.

Comparisons not metaphors, so the woman is a comparison to Israel not Israel. So who is the woman? She cannot be Israel because that would be a metaphor. You don't understand the English language if you think what you just did is a comparison.

The woman would have to be literal in Sean's interpretation.

Revelation 12

2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. (seeking the 2nd coming)
Quote:
|
Wait, the woman is the nation Israel, pregnant with a child, and the deliverance of her pregnancy is the second coming of Christ?
|
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (satan)
Quote:
|
Ok satan is a red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns. why does he have seven heads, ten horns and seven crowns?
|
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Quote:
|
You did not address casting one third of the stars of heaven to earth. What happened to earth when these stars are cast to earth?
|
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Jesus)
Quote:
|
Wait the woman brought forth Jesus again? And how do you explain that his throne is in heaven not earth?
|
6 And the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (notice that God saves Israel, not destroys her?)
Quote:
|
Ok the woman that is robed in the sun and standing on the moon, but is on the earth flees into the wilderness for 3 and 1/2 years, you have not given me any proof that the woman is Israel, just your "comparison" and now you want to make a statement like "God does not destroy her"?
|
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Quote:
|
Wait, if satan is not cast out of heaven till this time how can you say that he is causing all the evil in the world today?
|
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (many saints will perish as seen in Rev 14,)
Quote:
|
That is the only thing you got out of those three verses? Common Sean you can do better than that.
|
(Israel)
Quote:
|
I assume you are saying that the woman is "national Israel", but you still have not proven by scripture how you come to this conclusion.
|
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (Israel saved by God)
Quote:
|
Wait, I thought the woman was already safe in the wilderness, now she must fly to the wilderness again? When did she come out? and now she is taken care of for another 3 and 1/2 years. This is getting tedious.
|
Quote:
|
Wow satan cannot get at the woman (Israel) so now he makes war with the remnant of her seed. Who Sean says or Jews, what is the difference between Israelites and Jews?
|

The only thing that you have done is cause more questions. And you don't know the meaning of symbols interpret the passage, because you don't know the difference between a symbol and a metaphor.
