Why would a Pastor do this to me ?

I am trying to understand this After 13 years of membership at my church, I developed degenerative disc disease. This condition made it difficult for me to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Because of this I would oftentimes have to leave services immediately after the preaching, therefore missing the altar call. I was secretary and C. F. O. of our church, my husband was a minister in good standing. Well one day Pastor called and said that he thought that I shouldn't continue attending. I suggested that I could maybe start coming after worship service, that way I could be there for the preaching and the altar call. All he said was he thought I shouldn't keep coming. I told no one at church about this conversation. I simply did what Pastor said. This has left my spirit broken.
To this day I do not know why I was asked to leave.
Peace, Sinatra

All I can say is WOW!!!!

That is a mighty big blow. It's not fair for him to ask to leave without giving you a reason.

Whatever you do, don't allow the confusion to turn to bitterness. I know that will be a major job, but that's the most important thing, keeping your spirit right and saved.

Are you now attending another church? If not, I'd try to find one as soon as possible.

I'll be praying for you.

.

Unfortunately, this happened quite a while back. The church that I attended is the only Apostolic church here. I try not to be bitter. I remind myself it isn't God that did this to me but a man. But it still hurts .

Peace, Sinatra

13 years and you didn't get an explanation?

Re: Why would a Pastor do this to me ?

I know people who joined motorcycle gangs and went through all kinds of abuse to wear a patch. People will subject themselves to all kind of abuses to join fraternities, and endure losing enormous amounts of money to be part of pyramid schemes, or money cults like Monavie and Quick Start.
People will endue everything from verbal abuse to water boarding to be part of a group. People will also kill themselves for cults. Imagine being a part of Heaven's Gate and finding out that you not only had to wear fluorescent Nikes, but you had to castrate yourself and while eating chocolate pudding mixed with sleeping pills? Yet, when we hear about Apostolic Pentecostal Churches you would think that the people who burned to death at the Branch Davidian compound got off easy. I had my bad experiences, but I had more awesome experiences in the Apostolic Movement. I don't want to offend anyone, nor discount any kind of bad experience. I just want to say that I have been around all different kinds of religions, sects, and movements, and I must say that Apostolic One God Jesus Name people are still the most fun, and that's with all their faults and fictions.

In Jesus name

Brother Benincasa
