Thad...that is probably more incense (sp???) than what would be considered aromatherapy. They are two different things.

Personal likes and dislikes of one person have been the basis for several standards that were enforced on groups of people over the years.

I would say incense has more of a "new age" ring to it than what is viewed as "aromatherapy" today.

I bought some candles and soaps for someone and when i told someone else about it, they told me that this was wrong simply because it is connected to new age religion and eastern philosphies.

DO you agree and if so why? Didn't the 3 wisemen bring Frankincense and Myrrh to baby Jesus ?

Our senses were created by God to please us. We listen to music that helps set our moods. We like to touch things that are pleasant (not many people sit around feeling sandpaper). We look at pleasant things. We eat items that bring pleasure. Why not smell pleasurable smells that will help set our mood also?

If someone is against aromatherapy to affect mood or help with pain, I certainly hope they don't use medication!! I personally frequently rely on peppermint oil for sinus relief and for headaches, and life would be very sad without the scent of lavender. I have it growing right outside my front door, and it is an instant mood lifter for me.
