I totally understand where you are coming from in this, my family is the same way and they do not understand me at all. I would move to any variety of foreign countries in a heartbeat if I had the finances. I would love to live for a while in several different places.
My family goes in conniptions when they hear me talk about it, I don't know what the allure of this town is for them, they all act like they have super-glue on their hinder-parts. My grandparents get all worked up when anybody goes on vacation out of town. I mean like, two hours from here.
If you have the means to make it happen, you have prayed about it, and there is no spiritual reason why you shouldn't, I say go for it!! For what that is worth!

Re: Prayer for Guidance - Relocation Overseas
Just signed the papers on our house on Tuesday! We picked up the check yesterday! woohoo!
Keep us in prayer, there's a lot to consider here but we're still very much going!
We just got back last Sunday from translating for a medical mission trip to Guatemala and it was awesome! It was our 13 month old daughter's first trip out of the country, and she had a blast.

I'm so happy for you. This sounds like such a fantastic opportunity (no matter what Mark says..lol) for you and your family.
I'll have to start saving pennies..I'd love to visit Santiago someday.

Your drama queen is showing again.
What is secretive about it? They are asking for prayer for their family because they would like to move outside the USA. Maybe they have a desire but are not sure where just yet.
I happen to feel the same way. Just haven't really spent much time on it. I have looked at possible places outside the USA but I think I am waiting for my wife to finally get on board with it.
Why do they need a reason?
Okay so maybe I am responding to an OLD post but still, it's a new one for me

my prayers will be with you. I hope I can get my wife on board with a major move. I would love to live outside of the USA someday. I just want it to be in accordance with God's plans for my family.
