Re: I rubbed a lime on my forehead.

Well, what if they're organic? Does that make them any better?

Seriously, if you do not toss your lemon into the water, the acid from the juice should effectively kill the bacteria. If not, then bless it in prayer and don't worry about it.

Amazingly, no one has gotten sick from this yet, at least not that has been reported. That should tell us all something.

I am a certified food manager in two states. I do know that when we touch things, our own personal bacteria goes to work destroying the harmful stuff. Unless there is a preponderence of bacteria on any given food item, the likelihood of getting sick is minimal. Bacteria must grow and excrete poisons in large enough quantities for them to cause foodborne illness.

While we do hear of foodborne illnesses, when compared to the large number of people eating out, it is a relatively small number. The majority of food related sickness occurs in the home. We tend to be less careful at home with our own food than we should be.

My solution....ask for water, no lemon.

Re: I rubbed a lime on my forehead.

Ferdinand,

When you say you rubbed the lime on your head do you mean your forehead or your scalp beneath your hair (assuming you have hair of course).
