I need your love and prayers! This coming Thursday at 9:00 a.m. I will be having a total knee replacement. I've had a bad knee since I was 16 when I had my first torn cartilage surgery, then another one about 8 years ago. Now, it's bone on bone and after three rooster combs series of injections, there's nothing else to do except replace my worn out worthless knee.

Everyone that's every known of someone or had replacement surgery themselves have said they'd do it all over again.

I'm praying for a good, successful surgery and speedy recovery!
Ouch! I will be praying for you also. Make sure you at least call someone who posts on here and give them an update they can post for us once you have the surgery.

I can't even imagine the physical therapy involved in a knew replacement. Just make sure you do everything they say even though it may be painful.

I think they are more agressive with the CMP now -- they want maximum results in minimum time (so do I).

I will be going home (or least to my dad's the first two weeks) and had rehap care in my home upon returning back home.

I'm trying to physc myself up to really push on the physical therapy so that I can have full range of motion - - wanna wear those heels again!!

Everyone has stressed the importance of doing all the therapy and the secret is to take the pain meds BEFORE therapy!!!

I do and I have a couple projects that I think I'll be able to do for my daughter's wedding.

She wants to use love quotes throughout the wedding, so I'm making book markers with love quotes on them. The quotes are printed on velum that we purchased at Hobby Lobby and I'm going place them on top of a printed card stock. Punch a heart shaped hole on either side and tie the two together with a ribbon going through the hearts. On the back we've printed "Thank you for sharing this day with us! Their names and date of the wedding". Then we'll place one at each place setting at the reception as a memento.

I have all the supplies ready in a bag and I should be able to sit while recouping and make all 200 of them.

Here's a little tid bit of advice...
make sure you take the pain meds like it says..even if you don't like the feeling they give you.
I went through a painful shoulder surgery and I was determined I was going to make it with out the meds. (You hear all these stories about getting addicted) I had a longer recovery time and I think it was because I was to afraid of the meds.

Good Luck

I've had a few surgeries and I am a fan of demoral (sp).. how sweet is that stuff.. lol... I am sure I could have been addicted to that. jk

I'm not one to fall asleep easily and I loved the fact it just lulled me right to sleep...FAST and being such a light sleeper that just the slightest noise wakes me up... I loved the fact I slept regardless of who was in the room.

You are exactly right. We had a class at the hospital and they told us that it's proven that you heal quicker when you are not in pain, so they said not to try and be a hero, take the pain meds and recovery time is better!

Thanks!

And thanks everyone for the prayers -- I KNOW my name will be called out on Thursday and that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that God will be focused in on me that morning when I'm unable to pray for myself!
