Joseph Campbell said once that the trademark of Christianity is the "joyful participation in the sorrows of the world".
Your story, my story and every story is to be used by the Holy Spirit to help others get through their "stories". We can joyfully participate with them because we have the victory through Christ. The story doesn't end with "our" story.....it begins with His.
Thanks again Rhoni for your courage!
Blessings!

Steve p,
This reminds me of the message Gloria Gaither gave when I received my Master's Degree...what satan meant to destroy us, which we thought was the ending[Omega], Christ turned it around to be the beginning[Alpha].
My ending began His story...which has been [from Genesis through Revelation] a story of forgiveness, mercy, reconcilliation, and grace. I am a firm believer that when God takes vessels of dishonor and makes them vessels of honor...it is for His glory and His own personal use to get his message across to a fallen humanity.

Awesome analogy. Narrative Therapy is all about the retelling of our story from an alternate perspective. For those of us who believe in Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection, the wonderful gospel is the retelling of our story through the blood of Christ.
His grace still amazes me!
Blessings, Rhoni

Re: To all you ladies out there
Rhoni, You made me cry today. I could feel the pain in that post. You are a Godly and Strong woman. Many did not make it that went through what you did but God was with you and you had a relationship with HIM and that is what matters.
You really blessed me with your testimony and I thank you for it. I really feel for these ladies that do all they can and work so hard to keep the RULES - (they are NOT holiness standards - they are man made rules and regulations) and then get the raw end of the deal when their "holiness" husband decides to fornicate.
I think we should start listing some of these STILL LICENSED with the UPC that are no more than womanizers and adulterers and some with two and three living wives and hold credentials with the UPC!

I think we better not. They will have to answer to God.

Well, I think we better not too but we need to be reminded that some of these guys that have influenced many and are still spewing thier venom hold credentials and have "holiness standards" and are adulterers!
I am not going to mention any names - people know who they are!

i think we better not either but i will tell ya i have seen alot of junk and it is on the platform, i think it is so much hypocritical, it is sad that we try to live for God and we keep the standards, and try out hardest and then these people that are out fornicating and having adultris affairs are the ones gossiping that we wore pants or try to point fingers at us, i think it is a sad thing, but i am still keeping strandards cause i have a mission and that is to become ministers for God and being in the UPC we need to have standards, but i try not to be critical towards others,
rhoni, that was a good story ---not to many people tell their story as graphic as you, but we appreciate it, it maked me stronger, it would be hard for me to tell people that i had an affair, but it does happen and no one is perfect, but i am trying to hold the standards so there is no talk when someone does see me, they do not go running to the pastor and thats how it is------a bunch of tattle tails

Rhoni, that was a good testimony ---not too many people tell their story as honest and transparent, but we appreciate it. It has encouraged me. It would be hard for me to tell people that I had an affair, but it does happen, and no one is perfect. I am trying to hold the standards so there is no gossip as others observe me. I hate it when people go running to the pastor to tattle.

live 4 him,
You asked an honest question and I was ready to give an honest answer, not because I am a saint and don't care what other's think, but I am tired of all the stories going around that I try to hide from the truth, that I have had multiple marriages, and multiple affairs, ect. The truth is difficult enough without all the shadows.
I am a 'somewhat normal' person, with many of the same 'issues' that others have. I just want those who hide their issues, and deny them, to know that it isn't necessary to confess all. The only one you need to confess to is Jesus Christ, and he will forgive your sins and wash you white as snow. God is a God of second, third, and fourth chances. His mercy is new every morning. And I, for one, am so glad.
Blessings, Rhoni

Thank you "T",
There was a group that went out to California, I believe, and a young girl told multiple untruths about me...for whatever reason. I had always been good to she and her family but I guess it made her feel somehow superior to point out that I wasn't perfect. I never claimed to be perfect but I wasn't as bad as she pointed out.
Glad you are feeling better than this morning. Take your pain meds and go to bed.
Love you too,
Rhoni
