Give the "get off the fence and stand for something" speech a rest. Actually read the posts and try to understand the perspective without getting yourself worked up into a frenzy.
None of us want to murder babies. Pay attention.

Re: Abortion, Where Do You Stand?
people make their choices when they choose to have unprotected sex. Abortion is not an option, nor should it be a fix for mistakes.
any other scenario, well, it's not the fault of the unborn child and you have to trust God
Abortion is MURDER

Re: Abortion, Where Do You Stand?
When I was 17 yrs old a man at my church was 89 yrs old his name was Bro. Chadwell. BC told me once that when he was 19 that he had gotten a lady pregnant and they had a abortion. He told me that everyday for the rest of his life he thought about it and regretted it. I am not certain if he was telling the truth or not other than when he told me this he said it with tears in his eyes. This is a story I tell people that I know when they talk about abortion

Where do you stand, is it a life or a choice?

The only choice a woman has is whether or not to have sex. Birth control choices are before sex not after.

Roni -- out of curiousity, are you okay with birth control pills (and other contraceptives), or is abstinence the only option? Just curious based on your first sentence. I know some people who believe that birth control even in a married relationship is a way of playing God.
Not setting you up for another question or anything, just asking

Derrick,
Yes, I am alright with birth control pills but not used as night after where several are taken at once to abort a possible pregnancy. Stopping ovulation before a pregnancy occurs is one thing and aborting after a pregnancy has occurred is murder.

Thats how I feel about it as well. Bro. Rutledge had some very wise words IMO, regarding it beeing a very sensitive subject to women that have had abortions. My wife volunteers at a pregnancy support center. She does her best to talk (mostly very young) ladies out of abortion, be it keeping the babies, or placing them for adoption. We believe that life begins @ conception. Pertaining to the subject, we do not agree with using "the morning after pill", because it prevents an egg from being implanted. Nor do we agree with using a "birth control pill", because one of the phases alters the line of the uterus, which prevents a fertilized egg from implanting.

Shag,
As a Christian counselor I have had many opportunities to help women deal with the fact they had abortions whether of their own choice or a choice they felt pushed into to save parents, and even sometimes churches from 'embarassment'.
God forgives everything. Women on this forum have went through similar situations and God has brought them through forgiven, and on the side of Grace and Mercy.
This thread was not started with the intent to condemn those who have suffered this loss, but to take the subject out and look at it one more time through the filter of the word of God.
Blessings, Rhoni

Uh, thanks, I realize it was not started with the intent to condemn anyone. I was simply pointing out what Bro. Rutledge said was thoughtful towards women that have been impacted somehow by abortion. So we should post carefully and thoughtful of what we say and how say it on this subject. Guess maybe I shoulda left my 2 cents out.
