See - a statement like this is very subjective.

Your Wholeness, would you mind giving your personal definition of "Apostolic" since you reject the idea of it meaning Oneness Pentecostal?

Re: IS AFF Apostolic?

AFF FORUM RULES

"Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

Those that believe that every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith
with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God".

According to this the forum was set up to be an apostolic forum(according to the above definition) Now it is just a Friends Forum(according to some posts.)That tells me that somewhere along the line the decision was made to downplay the Apostolic label simply, because now, no one wants to tell anyone else, they are not Apostolic, because, we now know that apostolic means different things to different people.

What a watered down mess! At least someone should have the backbone, to at least hold to the definition descibed on your own forum.

Re: IS AFF Apostolic?

I have never liked the word Apostolic because it is a Catholic word over here but according to what you consider Apostolic I am that!

And, once again, that is the point. According to your definition there are few apostolics here.

I happen to believe the above "apostolic" statement. Once, again, we do not require members to submit to some kind of tribunal to ascertain their "apostolicity." We leave the labeling to the other posters who believe that they are judge, jury and executioner regarding all things apostolic. We do, however, step in when it looks like an execution though!

No... its not the Friends Forum... it is the APOSTOLIC Friends Forum. Just look at the top of the page. See? Apostolic Friends Forum. I emphasize the word Friends because I value the friends I have here. Nothing is watered down, and, as far as me, well I hold to the same Apostolic doctrines I have always held to. Nothing has changed in my walk with the Lord. This is a diverse forum... different views, different. While I don't agree with all that is posted... I respect the poster and his or her right to state their views and opinions. I do so because I considered them friends. Thewy may be more conservative than I...or more liberal. Their views may not mirror mine, but, they are my brothers and sisters in the Lord.

No decisions have been made that I am aware of. But, as someone else said, this isn't a denomination, organization or church where we must all speak the same thing, look the same way, and believe the same. We are individuals from different walks in life, and in different stages in our walk with the Lord. And we all love Him. That makes us one big happy family!

Re: IS AFF Apostolic?

My beliefs have not changed since coming to AFF, but my heart sure has.......It has opened up to love more, and to really "listen" to others. And for that I thank my fellow AFF'ers.

And Admin y'all still rock! Well except for the one that remains nameless, that Prax guy.

Re: IS AFF Apostolic?

We can love everybody no matter what religion they are and if they should decide to post here with us I think we should feel honored and maybe our kindness will help them come closer to God and in time find greater truth.
