This is NOT the creation of the earth but rather the BEGINNING of God's plan for Adam man and his fellowship with God.

The Earth already existed and appeared to have some form of population.
Humanoid maybe, but Lucifer was definitely here (Isa 14:12-17; Luke 10:18).

Jeremiah 4:23 "I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was (became) without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light."

Jeremiah 4:24 "I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly."

Jeremiah 4:25 "I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled."

It appears that Lucifer was on the pipeline when God was going to make man and decided he wanted to be LIKE God (Not replace God) in that he wanted worship/adoration.

God's main point throughout scripture is that NO thing, creature, or man was to receive worship; God alone was to be praised.

Genesis 1:2 "And the earth was (Became) without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

Genesis does not deal with the creation of the Universe, it deals with the beginning God's plan for man and his fellowship with him.

Your view of Genesis 1 appears to be covenantial as opposed to physical / universal. Is that so?

Our new book entitled,"The Prophecy of Genesis 1," is under construction but we will issue its chapters as they are completed. It is a huge project and will take some time to complete, therefore we will release the 7th chapter for your perusal. It is entitled,"All things were Created by Him."

Mosiac writing is not the issue at all. The problem lies in the perception of the document and its propagation. God never inferred in Genesis 1 that the earth was manufactured 6000 yrs. ago. We received that in Sunday school from well meaning instructors. The text does not neatly fit into this motif of universal design in 6 literal days, most of us will at least admit that to ourselves if not to our local constituencies. The document is blatanty prophetic. The term "let us make man" is just one of the smoking guns that reveals the covenant creation of man throughout time. Man is birthed into covenant through the bride and the bridegroom. The summation of Genesis1 is found in Genesis2:1-4. It describes generational birthing and multitudes (hosts) as the creation of heaven and earth, not the solar system.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Blessings
