Br buy some Corn Huskers lotion. You will not need to wear anything on your hands. Walgreen's has it in our local area. Works wonders.

Re: Cracked Skin - Need a Good Home Remedy
you should be able to buy bag balm at any feed supply and I also think Walmart has it. It really works.
Vaseline is made with petroleum and it really is not good for a person.

Yes, it is. But it works great for dry skin. Keith has a horrible of eczema, so we've "tried them all"
Pure olive oil with cloth gloves at bedtime is good. That works well.
Cornhusker's Lotion is also good.
The key to it is that whatever you use, you have to keep it up. You can't stop just because you got it cleared up.

Re: Cracked Skin - Need a Good Home Remedy
Purchase from drug store or Wally World, some Mentholatum. Rub in and then put a pair of socks or gloves on hands before going to bed. You will be able to tell a big...big difference by next morning. Vicks works but nothing does as good as Mentholatum.

Who carries the Bag Balm? I remember we used it on cows 25 years ago.
Somehow it seems sort of voyeuristic discussing it's use in regards to humans.

Saw it at Walmart this past weekend. Small container was $3.97- Large container was $7.97. It was on the same aisle with pet shampoos. You only have to use it in small doses, so a container would last you for a while... unless you're going to be using it on cows too.

Re: Cracked Skin - Need a Good Home Remedy
In all seriousness though... a humidifier in your home will help with the dry skin. Walmart has a good one with a wick in it that works real well. It has two 2.5 gal containers to fill up and the bottom holds 2.5 gallons. It will put up to 7.5 gallons of water in the air in your home everyday. I've got three of them in my home and can fill them up everday.
