Re: 2 Relevant??: Org churches to tackle Sex on Su
We don't have a problem with the pastor telling us that our kids can't play little league, watch tv, listen to Hanna Montana, wears shorts, or go swimming. But we have a problem with him teaching God's view about sex.
People in our culture, including Christians have a very distorted view of sex. Why not set the record straight?

I honestly don't think these teachings are going to be about sexual technique or anything explicit. Just and honest biblical examination of the topic.

BECAUSE so many Christians have a distorted view of sex, I don't trust anyone, including my pastor, to teach my children about it. Maybe that's just my own personal hangup. At our previous church (which I've mentioned too many times lately...) the pastor got up from the pulpit and went down the list of which particular sexual acts were right and wrong, and even said that it was a sin to have sex too often. I'm glad my children were too little to understand a word he was saying. He certainly didn't give fair warning as to the content of his Sunday sermon!
There are parents who don't teach their kids properly (my parents were in that group), and so maybe the church feels the need to step in. That's fine. But my children are already learning about it in a healthy way, and so I'm going to keep it on my terms for now.

Horrific! This is why there is the need for correct biblical teaching because of what so many have been taught. JG is a former teacher at CLC and has a a doctrate degree. I assure you he can be trusted to teach this subject.
But yeah, I agree to a point. There are many out there that I wouldn't want teaching this subject to my family.
DON'T START TELLING MY WIFE THAT TO MUCH SEX IS A SIN OR I WILL BE READY TO FIGHT OR POSSIBLY KILL!

We had a local church, not affiliated with us, bring all manner of lingerie to a couple's meeting. The pastor and his wife wanted to show them what NOT to wear. I wonder what they did with the items after the meeting? I'd ask if I could have them. Just to remind me, you know!

LOL!!!!!
I'm probably not being fair to my own pastor, here. I'm sure that if he DID address sex, it would be in an appropriate way. I...just...don't want to know, though. LOL!!!! If he thinks something weird, I just don't want to know about it.

All he could bring up is to NOT defraud each other and then drop it. It's not anyone's business.

OK, you guys are changing my mind on this topic. So much for AFF not changing minds. THIS JUST MAKES ME MAD!!! What kind of sick person wants to stop people from having God ordained fun with their spouse?

My husband and I discuss the perimeters in our intimacy. Some things can turn sex into ugly, base acts and not lovely and satisfying. That's our personal business and I don't discuss that with anyone.
