It denies our flesh, crucify's wrong desires and allows us to be more open to God's leading, his Spirit, his faith, his power.

It allows us top operate in the Spirit realm in a greater dimension if the desire is right.

If our desires are wrong, it helps those desires to be crucified.

Faith is what it generates in me. Any time you get closer to God in something like fasting you just feel more of faith.

So, does faith accomplish anything in and of itself or does it merely open up the door to that which already is provided?

Doesn't more faith always open up doors to go deeper into what is being provided that you may have not seen before or rather that you didn't try to reach out to before?

I guess what I am driving at is that many seem to have the opinion that as they FAST or even pray, they are creating something rather than entering into that which already IS!

How many walls do each of have erected in our lives through circumstance and even erroneous teaching that prevents us from entering into and possibly even seeing the fullness of God and His provision and desire for us?

Is it possible that fasting and praying and worshiping and praising are simply the battering rams God gave us to knock down these walls that separate us from the fullness of His Joy?

Beautiful! That brought tears to my eyes. I'm loving this thread!

I see you and I are in the same frame of mind. It causes us to want to and not be afraid to walk further into what has already been promised and provided.

What's weird to me is I can go all day without eating but let me decide to fast, and I will wake up starving. lol
