THE NICENE - CONSTANTINOPOLITAN CREED

We believe in one God*, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;

And in one Lord*, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, True God of True God, Begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made:

Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man;

And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;

And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;

And ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father;

And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead,

Whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, and Giver of Life, Who proceedeth from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke by the Prophets;

And we believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead,

And the life of the age to come. Amen.

* see 1 Corinthians 8:6.

Dan, if it still needs to defined, I will try...

wheither or not anyone admits it, this board is a decendant of Faithchildforum.com

The goal there was to bring together all aspects of the Apostolic movement together, to discuss the important issues that impact our common faith.

Clearly that demonstraits 2 things.
Frist that there are more than 1 or even 2 strains of thought within what one would call the Pan-
Apostolic movement.
Secondly, we have some things in common.

So what is an Apostolic?
Well it cannot be the things we dont agree on, so we have to determine where we do find common ground.

Those would be
1. Oneness theology to be an Apostolic here starts with this. We agree that there is One God. We agree in the Mighty God in Christ.
  • we might not agree that you have to be oneness to be saved
  • we might not agree completely in the modelist monarchist view of Oneness
but we agree that there is One God and he has shown himself to us in the form of Jesus Christ

2. We believe in Jesus Name baptism
we might not all agree that it is necessary for salvation but we all agree that this is the proper methodology for baptism
we might not all agree that those who have been baptized improperly arent saved but if asked how we baptize, it will be in Jesus Name.

3. We believe in the Holy Ghost.
We believe in and practice speaking in other tongues
Again, we may not agree on the value or salvational impact but we all agree that God did not cease tongues in the first church the way many evangelicals think.

4. we can trace our historical roots to the early 1900 pentecostal Holy Ghost outpouring.

Being Apostolic doesnt make one saved. Being Apostolic only explains ones approach to the Christian faith.

you can quote all the creeds you want. you are not apostolic if you are not Oneness in doctrine.

Do YOU disagree with anything that was quoted in that Creed other than the line "And we believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church"?

POINT ME TO THE SCRIPTURE THAT USES ... 'ONENESS' IN IT ... OR 'TRINITARIAN' .... FOR THAT MATTER.

Both doctrines are nothing more than interpretations of what people think the Bible says.
