Re: Ready for a Gun ban?
I fell in love with guns back in the Clinton years. I owned a fair number of Assault type rifles. After some years I felt I was giving them to much of my affection and time I needed with Jesus.
I have now scaled back to where I own just one 40 caliber Glock pistol with an interchangeable 357 Sig barrel. I also have my Concealed Carry Permit.
I found Guns to be the most addicting habit naturally speaking I ever had.

Just because you are not comfortable does not give you the right to judge. Some people are collectors and have no plans on murdering someone...good grief.
But the point is, according to the article there are OTHER areas too they want to look at, but my question is could this just be a beginning?

I honestly don't know how many of the average law-abiding gun owners own assault type weapons or ammunition and wanted to see how many here may.

A lot of murders are done with hand guns. In fact I'd say most gun shootings and fatalities are not assault rifles.
Personally I believe in regulation, but not banning. The problem with banning is the only people that won't have guns are the very people they can't protect from the nuts out there with illegal guns

But it did not say in order to be a well armed militia you have to be in an armed service

Heller dispenses of that notion, read the majority opinion in that case. The SC clearly states that it is an individual right.

Don't we have a near total ban on Narcotics and varius drugs? How well does that work. We have a ban on drinking and driving under the influence. That seems to be a waste of legal paper. Of course if all cars had all ignition systems wired into a breathelyzer, congress men would be grounded or be able to drive only with a chaffeur.

Re: Ready for a Gun ban?
Why would a Christian need a gun? I think it underscores a lack of faith. If you can trust God with your soul...you can trust him with your family's safety come what may. I think it's either lack of faith or an ego thing.
And no, I'm not for gun control. This is a spiritual question relating strictly to us Christians.

Let me see how that works. We have a skunk in the chicken house. It is so handy to take a 22 and shoot the skunk. Gun control is a sign of an epidemic of irrational thinking.
