Re: Susan Boyle - What can we learn?

Well.......She delivers again! As they say way too often on music comp. shows, I think she could "sing the phonebook". Love the bluesy sound she has on this song.

Indeed... she did have some wonderful bluesy inflections going on in that rendition.

Re: Susan Boyle - What can we learn?

Looking for lessons in Susan Boyle?

In the video below she is praised by the lady who first sang I Dreamed in Les Miserable years ago.

The impressive part to me though... is when they, once again, mention those who have ridiculed her and treated her badly in the past. They asked "Do you feel sort of a sweet vindication now?"

Her response..."The ones who made fun of me are now nice to me. So I may have won them 'round"

Not... "now whose laughing.", Not "I showed them". Not even... "I feel vindicated'. but "I may have won them 'round"

The bible says that we will be made more than conquerors. Vindication is conquering. Finally seeing them "get their own" is conquering. A desire to "win them 'round" rather than see them defeated is being more than a conqueror. A conqueror defeats their enemies. One who is more than a conqueror even brings those who were their enemies up with them as they rise.

Sometimes it is clear that Susan Boyle has a very simple way of thinking but it drives me to say that we could all use a simpler way of thinking sometimes.
