I was there - - was working at GC.
I think it was before the Philly Conference in 1980. That one's sort of a "bench mark" for my memory because the Phillies won the World Series at the same time and I can look up "World Series" and pin down the year.
WEC ought to publish some sort of almanac of GC's to help everyone's memory.
Anyhoo, I remember a young preacher telling me in Philadelphia's GC about how "the newspapers" ran a story of a streaker and claimed that the nudist was a "worshiper." The preacher went on to boast that "the UPC" threatened to sue the paper unless they ran a retraction.
The year of the streaker was 1974 in Louisville, KY. It was at the end of the service when everyone was about knee and start praying. I remember as a 13 year old the man running down the corridors and a group of people chasing him. I think he was greased down, because it seem like he just slipped out of everyone hands and got away. It was well planned because he went right out the door into a get away car. This was before video, it was in the old days when people use to cover up the one eyed devil in the hotel rooms during conferences.
