Right.
I watched the video late last night, but I was so tired, after I typed my post, I never hit "submit" before exiting the internet.
So my thoughts were:
Bro. McKee, really like what you had to say in the clip. IMO it needs to be said.
However, I have great disappointment in the entire GP version of the video. Why you even preached a man like this I don't know. I know that sometimes we develop friendships, and though one guys is seen as radical, or liberal, or conservative, they are preached based more on a personal friendship than actually theology. I realize this is common in pentecostal circles, but what happened at your church is reason that should not be the case.
I think the entire section of the GP vidoe was total trash. That wasn't preaching at all. What a waste of time, and what a shame. All of the racials slurs, insults, etc, doesn't do anything to bring people closer to Christ, nor does it encourage REAL holiness. It is that type of psuedo-authority, psuedo-power which is used to manipulate people to line up. "We should follow the preaching of this man, because He's in tune with the Spirit of God. Why, He even used GP to bring life to the cowboy church (using James Brown, no less)"
I would hope that RM would set this straight with his congregation, and I certainly would not have that preacher back.
My thoughts on the GP version of the video can be summed up in a smilie:

Aw, dang it. Seriously? Crud.
If i send you a list of the songs we've done, which would include,
1) Let It Be;
2) Hey Jude;
3) Long and Winding Road;
4) I Wanna Hold Your Hand; (sermon on marriage)
5) All The Same (Sick Puppies)
5) Come Alive (Foo Fighters)
6) Rockstar (Nickelback) (bad words changed)
and lots more...
...would you preach against me? Pretty please?

I wonder how GP would feel if he read this thread and saw that RM's only response was to point out that HE wasn't the one shouting? LOL!!!! Really? What does that mean? That RM wasn't shouting or praising God during the sermon with everyone else? Bottom line, you show support for what comes across your pulpit by default when you allow someone to minister there.
What isn't (or shouldn't be) the point of this video is an intense critique of GP. There are a lot of preachers who are rough around the edges, or even crude, and while it isn't my cup of tea, they are effective in some venues with some people. It's okay with me, in the sense that I think God can and does use people who are imperfect or who lack oratorical skills. What works in one church and one area of the country may not work elsewhere, so posting a *viral video* of something intended for a smaller group of people isn't exactly a fair representation of an event. I thought his whole delivery was comedic, and intended that way. It wasn't tasteful, but it wasn't, well, awful. Except for the reference to Bro. Ewing.

Oh my, I ONE BILLION PERCENT disagree. The things he said were WAY out of bounds and COMPLETELY inexcusable. Disgusting. What he said about Murrell Ewing was sickening and disgraceful. I have never walked out of a church service in my life. Take that back. Once. It was the day I left the UPC. But if I heard anyone say that about Murrell Ewing, a great man who moved hundreds of thousands with his music, I would exit. It's one of the worst things I've ever heard from the pulpit. I don't have enough angry words to express my disgust.

I know. I'm SO disappointed. But then again, he trashed secular music and then had his church shouting to it the next week, so maybe I won't believe him!

I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?
Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

Yes, well, I'm not quite as sensitive as you. I gathered that he disliked ME's singing--not that he disliked ME as a man. It was tasteless, to be sure. *shrug* I've heard sermons like his before, and it isn't my thing, but some people get into the bluntness. To each their own.

Ohhhhhh, so the question is, "Would you take a visitor to hear GP?" The answer's no for me.
