I've never been one for ear rings, but I was very much interested in dredlocks for a LONG time-- from my teens to my early 20's. But between living in my Dad's house and my time in the military I never had the time to grow my dredlocks.
Just like dredlocks, ear rings on a man can be very classy, if done right.
I'm thinking of Michael Jordan with this post-- obviously, not because for his dredlocks.

You know good well that every sin is not spelled out in black and white or red in the Bible. Covers alot of things to be sure. God gave us sense and most of all the HolyGhost to "gauge" what we do in our lives.
Our bodies are the temple of this most precious Holyghost, so why
would I want to mutilate it in any way on purpose?
I was gonna let this one go but I cant. Yes, sin is spelled out in black and white and red, I am sorry but just because you don't like something doesn't make it a sin.
and you ask why would you mutilate your body in any way on purpose? Do you eat food with MSG in it?? Do you know the internal damage that does? How about maybe a loofah to bath? Did you know that it scrubs off the top layer of skin? Yeah I know that's a bit nit picky but honestly, Whats the difference really?
Our work is SALVATION, not closet surfing, Our work is OUTREACH not casting out, Our work is about KINGDOM BUSINESS, not sticking our noses in every one else's business!!
What would be the purpose ? I mean , when a man gets up in the morning and says , "think I'll put on my earring" .. why ?

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter
I am a tried and true, blue blood, BY THE BOOK Apostolic Pastor, I am male and (shock and awe) I have both ears pierced, and it was done years after I received Acts 2:38 salvation.
I rarely wear earrings, mostly because my ears are shaped funny and it kinda looks weird but I do wear them occasionally and it doesn't bother me at all. But, my stance on the "Holiness Standard" probably differs from most people on here, I am actually sitting in my office in a pair of shorts as I type this.
If someone is going to make a "standard" they need to read the Word, make sure they understand what they have read, IN FULL CONTEXT (yes that includes historical context), make sure it applies culturally today and then present it, not just take a scripture or to and make doctrine out of it!
Just as long as you aren't wearing women's earrings or trying to look like a women. Yuck! and confusion.
The AFF pendulum has swung to the moderate side since the conservatives left and now the liberals have left. Not too many mods are offended by a man in shorts.
