Re: When I Got the Holy Ghost... How About You?

O so when Peter who spoke in Acts 2:38,he could of said just as easy "Be filled with the holyghost,Repent then get Baptised" so what your saying is that there was no certain reason for the order Peter put it in?

Should I laugh?????? He could've said it, but he didn't. There had to be a little thing called EVIDENCE, which is why we speak in tongues whether it be of men (as on the day of Pentecost) or of angels which apparently was done on the day of Pentecost as well.

Re: When I Got the Holy Ghost... How About You?

This thread isn't about whether you believe the Initial Evidence Doctrine or not, with all due respect. If you want to argue that, then please start a thread about that. This thread is for those that share the belief of "receiving the Holy Ghost" with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, and hopefully an opportunity for us to encourage one another about a precious time in our lives that we believe the New Birth was manifested by speaking in tongues.

Honestly, this isn't about debating the doctrine.

In closing.... there are many things that God chose that this world, logic and reason would find foolish or not needed, but He chose them to confound the wise. That's up to Him.

I would also state that I believe the tongue, since it is the most unruly member of the body is used as the initial evidence so that those around might see that this "vessel" is so yielded to God's Spirit so that they are speaking in a language they've never known.

In my case - - - If you would read the whole thread - -- - It was verified by a Hebrew instructor that I spoke in Hebrew. But that verification does not have to be present to verify if that person is truly speaking in tongues that are evidencing an infilling. Why? because they are the initial evidence. A Spirit filled life will display the fruit that will be born and other gifts will be desired.

It's also about faith...and frankly, logic, reason, and "making sense" don't always fit within God's plan.

It's okay Bro. Robbins, KWSS wants to argue with mans experience with God which I find hilarious. Honestly, I don't see how one can justify an argument with true experience. just sayin'

Re: When I Got the Holy Ghost... How About You?

Such as I thought... just amazes me though that some wait in the wings just waiting to play Theological Gotcha when someone posts something that they disagree with....

This was the equivalent to a group of folks standing up in a service and sharing their testimonies about when they got the Holy Ghost, and he stands up and says... sorry folks, your theology is all messed up, let me clear that up for you before you continue to give your testimonies....

Re: When I Got the Holy Ghost... How About You?

Thats cool...just don't say someone got the holyghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues..just as they did on the day of pentecost when those tounges were an understood language on the day of pentecost..Change the Doctrine to fit around Ananais and his house later on in Acts or Jump over to Corithians and say the evidence of the holydhost just as in 1 Corinthians 14..It would fit better then using Acts 2:38 to validate an experience that does not match what took place.
