I don't wear shorts, but I do wear short sleeve shirts, so I know how hot it can get outside. Still, having A/C isn't required for me to go camping, and I'm a pretty big fella. If I had an RV with A/C I'd probly never leave the crazy thing while camping.

Well I wear camp skirts. The older the better.I want to get me one of those Aussie hats to canoe. My daughter got one. They have a string around the
chin so you don't lose them as easy and they are light.Hot or not I am camping for real in a tent. You can always take a dip in the river.I found a
battery operated fan at walmart. It runs on D cells and is supposed to last
for 72 hours. It doesn't matter to me though. As for the mosquitos....I will take care of them with my BB pistal.God is good!

We found the perfact spot to pitch our tent. The river is deep there but has a sand bar so our daughter can swim. Its awesome. We passed by it when we were out Kayaking.BTW Kayaking is the best. You are together but not in the same boat and there is no arguing about who is paddling because you are paddling. Its much more responsive than a canoe on the river as well.
If you can't swim though the Kayak is not for you.lol...fear will grip you when
it turns over.lol...but you are able to lean back and take it easy in a kayak.
We saw alot of wierd sites on the River.I saw one old gal who was wearing a confederate flag bikini.I was shocked that women that size wear a bikini.I told my husband who has poor vision so he missed the sight, that it must have
taken the whole flag to make that suit.Anyone know where I can buy a used confederate flag?...lol

Does anyone here camp? I should probably mention I love to hike.Especially if its mountain hiking like in the Smokies etc.Outside is such a relief for me because I work in a prison.I am enclosed behind security bars for twelve hours a day eight days out of two weeks. Its a stressful place.
Anyway besides the mosquitos I am getting soft to the idea.

I think this will remind you why you prefer the motor home type camping....

No way I am a changed woman.A day on the River has opened my eyes.
I miss camping.I am game for it now.My fishing pole is getting a new
reel.I am excited.(the great tan didn't hurt to help convince me either.)
I love the freedom of the outdoors.
