A few years later while I was away at Bible College their pastor ran off with the young daughter of one of the elders in his church. Naturally he kept right on preaching and within a short time was pastoring an independent Pentecostal / Charismatic church in another state. At least he has remained married to the girl he ran off with for the last 30 years or so!

Well, at least THAT is something I suppose.

The funny thing is that I knew this girl since she and her sister went to the same HS as I did in a small town. The sister that ran off with her pastor was the quiet meek Patty Pentecost type and not the sister who was considered the wild rebellious one. You gotta watch those quiet ones!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I agree they might act similarly, but it is still a learned behavior, for the most part.

- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Badge of Honor? Trash talking other churches
Paul believed in exposing error publickly. He commanded the Church to do the same.
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned ; and avoid them . 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Romans 16:17-18
It is not wrong but right to call false doctrine what it is or false teachers what they are. Paul would certainly not be welcome in most Churches today.
We have become so used to false doctrine we are quite comfortable with it really.
So Im not merely addressing warring sects of Apostolics but rather from a Biblical view its all right to openly rebuke error.
