I'm still the same I ever was, but the church where your friend attended had a preacher who controlled so much of the lives of those under him, that he committed adultery with two married women. One of the women, had 5 children. The situation was happening long before I ever set a foot in the place. I tagged it, then the Lord took care of the rest. I suggest when you play board games you don't be a sore loser. Therefore no one has to go around picking up the pieces you knock all over the room.

Typical Preterist rewriting history for their own benefit.

Of course Not, but if a cell phone is unimportant to salvation, then why would it be so hard to get rid of?

Besides the case here is not whether or not it is a sin to have a cell phone. It is matter of having multiple issues on going for a long time testing the patients and long-suffering of God, until he spoke to the pastor to draw a line. Before he encouraged the young people.

It is not my place to judge a man of God doing his best to get a people to Heaven. I'm not in his shoes and I don't know what he knows about his saints. My pastor is very gentle and balanced and I am thankful for that.

Hardly, the way I posted it is the way it happened. If history was to be rewritten the brother should of obey his elder, then ventured out when the elder knew he was ready.

If you are speaking of a particular case I know nothing about it, and therefore cannot judge it. I just wouldn't place a prohibition on cell phones, because parents need to be parents, and I'm not a glorified babysitter. If a family has an issue then you go to the parents, you work things out with them.

Re: AMC -Nashville

Let's see. I remember that we had a church wide curfew. Teens and younger couldn't be out past 10pm. Adults couldn't be out passed midnight. Not kidding.

Some time after I left there was a cell phone curfew. However that worked, I don't know.

God does not expect you to blindly follow men. If you do you are apt to be led into a ditch.

The ends do not justify the means. The logic of controlling every aspect of peoples lives and parenting for them is dangerous. It is a perversion of christianity.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
