not just pastors. I talked to one pastor who was upset about this- i don't know why he would be but nevertheless.....

I wasn't referring to anyone in particular... Just those who take every opportunity available to bash an "UC" preacher... Yet there was no opportunity here b/c VM said nothing inappropriate or anything "out of the way" in his letter...

I am curious, he has fellowshipped outside the UPC for years and years, it doesn't really matter that he says the UPC is the only organization he has been with...does that fact matter at all for any minister?

I just wonder if there will be any ripple effect??

Thad, the letter was VM all the way, classy and heartfelt. He is always a gentleman. The reason that it might upset a pastor that he had sent this to all licensed preachers in CA is because the ones who aren't pastors are more than likely someone elses saint. So that would be communication with another mans saint, which some would frown on. IMO

I see nothing wrong with the letter. He stated his long association and positions that he's held in the UPCI. He was clear that he left over the TV advertising.

I thought it was a nice letter to send his UPCI friends.
