why not beards? nature itself teaches its a shame for a man to have long hair, beards in this generation have become more of an object of vanity and an identifying mark "think Duck Commander" "ZZTop" for me its a part of being separate and disciplined.

I see your point. But it assumes that all who wear beards are guilty of vanity and wanting to look like ZZTop. That isn't righteous judgment.
I wear a beard for several reasons.
A.) I've been clean shaven most of my life. I found the change refreshing.
B.) I have a rather young face. A beard tends to help me look more my age, and I've noticed in meetings that I'm taken more seriously.
C.) My lady love actually loves it.
D.) Shaving effects me mentally. I was in the military for 8 years and we were required to shave. I've found that I'm more relaxed, more patient, and less military minded when wearing a beard. It's like the beard helps me close the book on that chapter of my life. When I'm clean shaven, it's almost like putting on a part of my old uniform.
E.) I just like it. We all have personal styles of haircut, clothes, music, etc. that we enjoy personally. Me, I enjoy my beard.
I don't have anything against clean shaven people. The thought has never really crossed my mind. Of course, I've come to where I joke about it sometimes with statements like, "There are two kinds of people in this world. Those with beards... and women." But those are just jokes. I've actually been judged by a couple churches who mandate being clean shaven, before they even took the time to get to know me. Most who wear beards would never do that to any clean shaven person based on their being shaven. In fact, we interact with clean shaven people all day. I don't remember ever judging someone just because they were clean shaven.
In all honesty, I'm more likely to not like the appearance of a bearded person, especially if their beard is excessively long and unkept looking. I see not special virtue in having a beard. It's just a hair style preference like blocking or tapering one's hair at the back of the neck.
