Re: Is beauty a sin?

I say no it isnt a sin.

It is what one does with the beauty God has given that determines if it is sinful.

Or rather, we can use whatever God gives us for good or for evil.

For a long time, I thought it a sin to look good, or at the very least to captialize on it, or accentuate it in anyway.

This is why I allowed myself to balloon to almost 300 lbs. I wore very old looking dumpy clothes.

It is bad when you get fashion tips from your mother!

I thank God for sending someone in my life that helped me realize that my beauty isn't a sin.

I am trying to give God glory for it, it is a learning process.

And for those who think it cost a lot, NOT!

Cuz I don't have a lot of money to work with. A pedicure and manicure can run at the most $60 for both and you can get them once of twice per month.

I do it to treat myself, to minister to the woman in me. I want to look like a lady. When the world sees me, I want them to know they are looking at all woman. Because the devil tried to take that away from me.

So ladies, don't let religion or low self esteem make you disdain what God has given you.

And I am with my boy Lee Stoneking. He says Apostolic women are the most beautiful women on the planet!

So if beauty is a sin, then ladies, we's a sinnin'! LOL ; - )

Just kidding...

Let the whomevers talk and say women are this and that all they want.

God give it to you; they didn't.

The world got Mary Kay and all that, we got the Holy Ghost.

Ignore the folks who try to tell you how to carry yourselves.

Let BEAUTY reign!

God Bless!

some things that maybe some of you have thoughts about.
1.Is it a sin to be beautiful? Do we have to hide our women behind amish(sorry Bro.Hoover) and period costumes?
2.Do we have to give up the salon if we don't cut our hair? I go for the great deep shampoo and hot drier condition.
3.Is a manicure and pedicure a sin if you don't use colored makeup and go for the french or american look?
4.Is it a just an attempt for men who want to be cheap and make their wives exist on a plain...and I mean plain level?
5.Can a person retain a holy appearance and life style with balance and not go over the top and become really worldly? just some thoughts.

How about some answers while not crucifying those who do or don't?

Only when you think the other person has it and you don't.

Re: Is beauty a sin?

I don't think treating yourselves to beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures, hair dos, etc. has anything to do with the men.

Ladies, married ladies, your husbands give you spending change, right? If you choose to treat yourself, it is a time to minister to you. You take out time for church, the kids, hubby, work, business, etc.

Every lady needs that time where SHE is catered to. We as women tend to take care of everyone else.

Those few hours in the salons is time for us to feel special and taken care of.

Now, the guys get a chance to see the finished product and go, whoa baby! LOL

But its not about doing it for their reaction.

Its about doing it for YOU!

Singles, same thing. Do it for you. Not to please or entice a man. Do it because it does something for you.

Now, I heard a woman of God say that married women gotta keep themselves up to minister to their husbands.

I don't look at it that way. I look at it as if I do this for me, I feel better about me.

If I feel better about me, then I can better minister to hubby.

Just some musings...
