I think a pastor should have a nice car because they have to drive a lot to hospitals, funerals, camp meetings, special events, etc. I wouldn't want my pastor to have a car that could possibly break down on a trip! I want my pastor to have the best car that is appropriate.
Marilyn Gazowski drives a Rolls Royce.

I respectfully and gently disagree that any pastor should drive a luxury vehicle or that they should live in luxury. Perhaps I'm a quack and a fringe weirdo (I'm usually called a liberal which is ironic) but I think the church should be counter cultural in our materialistic/consumeristic/hedonistic culture and the pastors should be leading in this area not capitulating to it by riding around in the symbols of materialistic status.

True that. Those things are scary. Now that gas is hitting $4 a gallon I'm starting to see alot of Hummers at Carmax though.

The other day I was helping a lady put something in her monster truck. I was standing on the curb and the floorboard STILL hit me at about neck level. Crazy. One of my clients has a truck so long I asked her if the front and rear bumpers had the same zipcode. It seems the smaller the woman the bigger the truck. When we do car line at my sons school I'm usually the only one with an actual car in the whole bunch. All the rest are Tahoes, Escalades, Suburbans, etc.... I can feel the ozone layer shrinking as each moment passes.

Re: What's the Current Preacher's Car?

As a pastor I have always believed that I should not drive a car any greater than the average car of my members, and that I should not live in a home any greater than the average members I pastor. This is just my opinion, I know many men who believe that the ministry should live "very" well as an example of what can happen if you serve the Lord. However, in our cynical world I never want to give reason for someone to say "look at that preacher getting rich off of his members."

Is it just me that it seems wry that a guy name Cooper would like big trucks?

I got in one of those little Coopers once and my wife still hasn't stopped laughing. She said she couldn't tell if I was in the car or wearing the car. haha.

I don't know what "The Car" is these days amongst preachers. I do know a certain uber conservative UPC preacher not far from here that has always driven gold Mercedes and gold Lexus cars to his luxurious home in a posh gated community. The per capita income in his town is $30,000. He's also one of the senior leaders of the UPC and highly regarded, although not by me.

I drive a Nissan Altima.
A 2.5 or 3.5? Lol Bless you.
