Gal 5:2 Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.
Gal 5:3 I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.
Gal 5:4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
Gal 5:5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.
Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

Then I too HOPE you make it as well.
I agree with you on this in PART but works do save. As faith is a response(work) to God and his provision or Word. The leading of the Spirit is our works and unless we follow him we are following the flesh. we are slaves to whom we obey. In this the righteousness of God is seen in us as we WALK AFTER the Spirit which is faith. To walk after him is works. Thus it is not our provision but his. In this we fulfill the requirements of the Law. As the Spirit is righteous so are we as we walk in liberty TO the Spirit.

Works are anything we can do apart from the Gospel. That is why fruit of the Spirit are not works, but results.

Works of the flesh ARE works and show the condition of our heart.

BAptism in Jesus name is not a work it's part of the gospel action and or response.

Faith is not a work either neither is repentance

Thanks for those verses, Prax. I needed them today.

So the first step to being accepted by and fellowshipping with trinitarian charismatics is the dropping of the standard.

Then it's just another step to "well they don't really believe in three Gods, after all it's really just semantics".

And then the use of the name of Jesus in water baptism is not as important as it used to be.

Thanks, but NO THANKS, I'll just stay over here and WATCH the train wreck.
Trinitarian Pentecostal men believe it or not many do not have facial hair. BTW are you saying you believe no facial hair is bible?

OPs were fellowshipping them before the AOG kicked them out and they were still fellowshipping them long afterward.

Re: No Thanks, I Will Stay Old Time Pentecost

Unfortunately, there are a lot of folks in Pentecost who are more loyal to tradition than they are to the truth. And they're willing to hold on to something they know is biblically unsupportable, because they're so proud of the fact that they still do it "like the old timers did ".

But I think we should keep in mind that in Mark 7 Jesus had some harsh words for those who were "teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

Don't hold your breath for that train wreck, although I know how excited some of "God's" self-appointed hall monitors would be to get the chance to come and "rescue" people from the wreckage.... it would give them more "scary" sermons to preach fear and guilt to other unsuspecting victims...

FTR, I have NEVER told an individual that they "were going to Hell".

Ok, but isn't that where the "slippery slope" leads. Every time there is a reference to the "slippery slope" is made it is in reference to Libs and their "loose" ways
