Then we pay our tithes to the district.

Now they are wanting more. It is a crying shame to charge preacher and their family to come into service so that they can take up an offering for 3 hours.
Ah yes! I am with you there. Drop the offering entirely and raise the fee 5 bucks to save us all a little embarrassment!

Not bad for union dues. Tell them to drop the insurance and your dues will drop a fair amount (just don't tell your elders who are depending on that coverage to bury them that you are going to do it.)

One big problem with conference is that there is really only one offering (first night service) that goes to the expense of the conference. Anybody else remember the resounding thud when Bro. Libby was trying to raise that one.
Guys will be begging not to be asked.

This has been amended and "explained" as being a charge for heightened "security requirements".

Great xray machines at GC and a bin to throw away all the nail clippers and water bottles soon to come too?

I have had two messages on this- skip calling me and put THAT toward GC costs instead.

There also is a budget committee from the General Board that goes over every departments finances and reports their findings at each General Board meeting.
It is true the deficit is about 500k - if one were to look through their financial reports they may find some of the numbers. I don't have them although I would think any Sup't who wanted them could probably get them by asking.
If you have seen the budgets, what is the main source of expenses? Rooms? Travel????

PPH- or what ever it is called now. They used to have the exhibits next to the arena, and moved them away from the arena "to save costs" a few years back. This destroyed foot traffic.

I think your info is a little off on this one. The exhibit area is determined by availability of space at or near (or not so near) the arena. I don't think it has anything to do with saving costs. The preference is to have it connected as in Louisville, a big reason imho why they are going back there.

True. They always try very hard to get as close to the arena as possible.
That's why Louisville and Salt Lake always have the best sales results.

You do the research. I already did mine.
Louisville was centrally located, had good motels within driving distance, and SteakNShake.

I know there were throngs of GC visitors who detoured to see the Grand Canyon when they went to Phoenix via Las Vegas. Many told how they liked the drive through the AZ desert and the cost of the tickets. I know many who still use GC for family vacation time also.
