My daughter crammed four years of college into five.
Oh my word, I totally understand, my daughter has had about 3 or four majors already, and taken prereqs. for those, so she is just finishing her actual 2 year of college after taking three years of classes. Of course there was also the 6 month "break" she had to take in the middle of it. I have finally gotten her to pick a general field of interest that she could go several different ways with.

My daughter went to Oral Roberts, Lambuth University, Union University, a few classes at Jackson State, and back to ORU to graduate. It was a roller coaster!!! The back window of her car had so many parking stickers, it looked like she was collecting them. I felt like Eddie and I should have been allowed to walk in with the graduates at ORU after all we'd been through and spent on her.

I knew about JSCC and Union, but I didn't know she went to Lambuth. When did she go there?

I do not say this for offence or in a prideful way at all, and
I certainly am not against education. Our parents did not
allow the option of "quitting school" as this was not in their
vocabulary.
We eleven siblings all finished high school, several with top
honors and scholarships. Many went on to pursue additional
education, including degrees. Our six children also graduated
from the same high school we eleven did. And some with high
honors/scholarship.
But I would not trade my 68 yrs. of "Experience in Life" for all
the letters you could pile up behind my name! Those years
are priceless but costly but they are worth it!
Money could not buy my "education". There have been many
mentors that have assisted in my learning experience, but
The Teacher has been the best!
"And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great
shall be the peace of thy children". (Isaiah 54:13)
"It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of
God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned
of the Father, cometh unto me". (John 6:45)
I'm with you. I work with someone that has their MBA and sometimes I wonder how they make it to work.
It takes nothing away from those that do have degrees, but just as Michael P said, he's been fortunate to work where they recognize work experience is equal to education.
I'm stuck where I work because I do not have a degree. I've worked her 15 years and my work experience is invaluable, yet I cannot be promoted anymore because of the lack of a simple piece of paper.

LR has over 20 years experience as an administrative assistant, a job that requires a degree in most offices today, yet her experience speaks for her, and is considered over a degree.

We use to be that way here because the President of our company started out mowing lawns at another medical company, then worked his way up and started his own company. He was a firm believer in work experience.
THEN....we were bought out by a BIG medical company and everything is politically correct and all jobs require 4 year degrees plus now.

Can't you get that little piece of paper online? That's what I'm trying to do.
